Tipping can be very stressful anyway, but add to that the not-so-small-fact that you have a whole wedding budget's worth of tips to think about, and scales lean toward panic. Here's what you need to know: A 15- to 20-percent tip is considered standard for hair and makeup (20 percent across the board in larger cities like New York, Boston, and Dallas). Also, take into consideration that does not cover incidental treatments you may receive from your stylist's or makeup artist's assistant, like a shampoo, deep-conditioning treatment, blowout, or even a hand massage. Generally, $5 to $10 per assistant is considered fair. If you're late for your appointment, or your scheduled time runs over due to any extra care and attention you've been given, consider being a bit more generous. After all, you're not the only person invested in your wedding day -- share your joy by sharing an extra dollar or two.
