Had my very first facial with Regan and she was excellent! She was very knowledgeable and was so friendly and welcoming. She made sure all of the right products were used for my skin type, and my face felt great for days. I will definitely be back and will most definitely be requesting Regan!

I like the massage here, however thr front desk people seem to be very rude and i felt very uncomfortable trying to reschedule my appointment she sounded like she did not want to help me at all.. she sounded like she wanted to get off the phone with me!

This place is awful. My advice: Stay away! My mother-in-law treated me to a massage for my 40th birthday last year. The actual massage was alright, but the massage therapist asked if I had been to any doctors lately, which I found really odd. I had mentioned in my intake form that I had been undergoing fertility treatments for over 3 years which included 6 rounds of IVF, so okay… She continued to ask me questions about my infertility experience, which was inappropriate during a massage because I was there to relax and escape from my stresses. I was shocked when I was asked, “Have you considered adoption or surrogacy?” This is SO NOT what you say to someone in my shoes. It took everything in me to just relax and not cry. Afterwards, I complained and the receptionist was not very understanding and said the massage therapist asked me those questions because she had a friend going through it. She never told me that, just treated me like it was a job interview. Just kept prodding. I’m sorry, but I was not there to provide information about my painful experience! I was there to relax. Anyway, they said they’d give me a complimentary facial. I said I’d prefer another massage. Scheduling was difficult, but a year later — and 7 months pregnant after finally receiving an endometriosis diagnosis and surgery! — I returned for a complimentary prenatal massage. The massage therapist/massage was okay, but not as good as another place I’d been to. No hot towel to wipe down with after, etc. It feels very much like a get you in/get you out kind of place. At the front desk, I checked to make sure she knew it was complimentary. Then she asked if I wanted to leave gratuity. There was no slip, so it was very awkward to have to answer out loud and give an amount to put on my credit card, since I had no cash on me. Apparently, she was taken aback from the amount I said and looked at me as if I were total trash — I’m not in a great place financially, as I am having my first baby after spending thousands on IVF and also get no paid maternity leave. Then she said to me, “You keep it. You obviously need it more.” Luckily, there was no one else there to hear this. It was so humiliating. So, after I thought they had mostly redeemed themselves, I had a bad experience once again. Even if she thought I was the cheapest person on the planet, it’s totally uncalled for to comment on the amount, in my opinion. I should not even have had to explain my financial situation to a stranger. I would give this place 0 stars if I could!

The staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. The facility is beautiful and invokes a feeling of calm serenity. My facial far exceeded my expectations. It was my first time and my enesthitician, Lisa, was absolutely amazing.

One star solely because you cannot get an appointment. Seriously, they are booked months out

The massage was great, however, it's a rip off. I bought a 60-minute massage. The appointment was at 2pm, I did not get called into the room till 2:10pm and when the lady was done it was 2:52pm. I'm sorry but if I pay for 60 minutes, then I expect 60 minutes. Why am I paying for them to get ready, they should be ready, that's why it's a scheduled appointment.

I crawled in and walked out feeling 100% better. Erin worked her magic and really thought outside the box to release the pain between my shoulders. Using a hot towel to loosen the muscles was perfect . Looking forward to my next massage set for next month

The staff was helpful in answering all my questions and easily made me feel comfortable for my first massage at this location. I'll definitely visit again.

The 1 star is based on my most recent appointment which was cancelled approx 90 minutes before I was supposed to arrive. The person who called was polite enough, but didn't offer to provide any complimentary services due to the inconvenience until I complained.

If I could give negative stars I would. Let me explain. My husband had an account with them racking up 12 massages. The card these were linked to expired and since it was an automatic withdrawal people forget. Instead of hand and stone letting us know, they closed his account and erased all his paid for massages. Great business. We tried to call and explain what happened even went down to talk to them in person but no one helped, said there’s nothing they can do. Thieves. It’s disgusting that this happened. How much money we lost.

The service itself, massage and facials, are a excellent. The staff is super friendly and helpful as well. Where it gets knocked for me is how hard it can be to get scheduled. They are always booked solid, which requires you to book in advance, sometimes by a month or 2. As a member, it makes it hard to use all your credits.

What a wonderful spa! It's always a pleasure to be able to get in for a treatment. Soon they will offer tea in the waiting area because finding time to relax is so difficult these days! Thanks Ladies

My experience was great! I really enjoyed the massage. There was an issue at checkout, however the customer service rep, Michelle, did an excellent job trouble shooting the issue. I would definitely go back for a visit.

I had a facial at the Quakertown Hand & Stone and it was a really great experience. My technician Kaleigh was very kind, professional and informative. She helped me to start a regimen of basic skincare products to use at home after explaining how each one works and using them on me during my facial. I left my appointment feeling like I had a better understanding of my skin and what it needs to ultimately achieve the skin that I want. I'd highly recommend this location as the waiting room is spacious and very welcoming as well.

I had a fantastic experience and conversation with my massage therapist Stephanie. After talking about the reasons she does massage she definitely takes her clients to heart. THANKS so much I feel rejuvenated.

In times of extreme covid -19 infections I felt that asking for a vaccinated therapist made a lot of sense But, i was told no one can say if they are or not vaccinated. To me, if a business refuses to answer such a basic question and request then they are saying “no ,we are not vaccinated and therefore you will not be safe”. There’s not a vaccinated person that won’t proudly state that they are Therefore, I can’t recommend this business and i will never go there . Be smart consumers… if a business doesn’t care about your safety find another place which i did

I decided to start treating myself to massages so I purchased the membership. When I went online to schedule massages the 1st available was always 6 weeks out. So I called to cancel & the manager talked me out of it and fit me in. Then I made 2 massages 6 weeks in advance. The day before my appointment I was told I needed to reschedule. Then they said they could get me in at a time when I could not make because of work. When I said I would like to cancel my membership because there are always scheduling issues. I was told I have 90 days to use 5 credits. How could I do that when it takes 6 weeks to get an appointment and then the day before that appointment you try to reschedule me. Seems like a scam to me to sell a monthly membership when you can't fulfill it. You basically got my money for no service. Just aggravation to me.

there was a blonde at the desk who had a suspicious rash on her neck that looked like staph, i was rather put off by the sight of it. the massage i recieved was mediocre. i was gifted a gift card to this spa from my rabbi and was disappointed so i refuned him the money.

Great first experience at the Montgomeryville Hand and Stone tonight. I mentioned to Alexis I’m suffering from concussion headaches and she knew just what to do to help me relax and taught me what to do to help alleviate them at home. I really appreciate the extra attention, the entire experience was so relaxing and much needed. She is the sweetest. I will definitely be back!

Excellent place. Massage was awesome and Alexis was super nice.

Went in with a gift card for 50 min massage and classic facial. Honestly, I feel like gift card holders are not given the attention that members are given. The massage was so light (maybe it was a relaxation massage? I was expecting deep tissue) and there was no communication between us about pressure. True, I could have spoken up, but this usually makes me feel really awkward and I would rather the masseuse check in. I left feeling like I hadn’t had a massage at all, just paid a lot to be oiled up. The facial was interesting but not something I would do again. Not much of a visible difference after, and I had smears of clay mask on my face that made me wonder how clean my skin was when I left. Esthetician was very friendly and communicative though. On the plus side, no one tried to ask me to become a member. Though maybe if they thought I was interested (I actually was prior to my experience) I may have had a better massage.

I went to gather legal papers. And at the other one wait in line. For the same information. Appointment only.

They were rude from the door and I should have turned right back around. They quoted one price on the phone during the booking and then after the massage, demanded 40 more dollars and would not honor the quoted price. They quoted 59.99 and charged 99.99 for a 42 minute massage. The massage therapist used very little pressure and was not friendly.

Alexis did my relaxation massage for me and she went above and beyond. She asked me what areas of my body I specifically wanted to work on, which was my lower back and shoulders. She had me stand straight and noticed that my shoulders and shoulder blades were uneven and they sure were. She even provided me with a chiropractor close in the area who could help me with my chronic pain. Throughout the massage she made sure that the pressure was right and if everything was okay. If I come back to this specific location, I would only choose Alexis. I appreciate all of her help, kind words, and attentiveness.

Clean and relaxing environment and professional friendly staff. I was very happy with my massage. Can't wait to get another one.

I've been a customer of the Montgomeryville location for years, have had dozens of treatments at the location by multiple practitioners, and have had consistently excellent experience. This review takes those years of experience into account. The staff have been polite and accommodating, even if I'm sometimes running a few minutes behind, though note that your treatment ends at the specified time regardless of when you arrive. All practitioners have been professional and capable. Some are more knowledgeable than others, but that's expected; all do good work, and I always leave feeling better than I arrived. I regularly give treatment gift cards to friends & family. Lastly, I've just had my first treatment post-COVID-lockdown, and was very happy with the location's cleanliness and use of PPE.

Very positive. Helpful. I didn't wait 2 minutes prior to my appointment, everything was on time. Professional

Very pleasant experience. We had received gift cards as a wedding present. We were greeted by name and made to feel welcome and relaxed. The reception area as well as our room were both extremely clean. Will definitely be going back. Thankyou Phil and Alexis.

Very disappointed with my experience. I arrived at 5:15 on Saturday, the sign on the window indicated they were open until 6:00, to purchase a gift card for a massage for my wife's birthday. The two employees working told me that they had shut the computer system down and that they couldn't help me. I reminded them that the sign said that they were open until 6:00, and they said that there was nothing that they could do. No apology, no nothing from either of them, they just sat there. I let them know that that I would be happy to go spend my money elsewhere. I left and went to Massage Envy, and they were wonderful. I hope that management addresses my concern with their employees at Hand and Stone, Montgomeryville. I don't plan on ever going back there.

Very nice and friendly staff and clean place. But The lady didn’t work on the areas I asked her to work on when I filled out the form. I also paid extra for the aroma and scalp and she rubbed my hair didn’t really touch my scalp at all and aroma was only brought out when she did my scalp and it was at the end. $25 extra not worth it.

Excellent and courteous customer service. Knowledgeable staff and a relaxing environment

My massage therapist was nice and very personable, but the massage was supposed to be 50 minutes and she only massaged for 40 minutes. When I asked about it at the front desk I received an apology and a voucher for some “valued at $15” add on for my next massage... why would I want to come back to somewhere that shorted me 20% of the service I paid for? I wish I would have been offered a slight discount on my massage. I would have been more likely to return if I felt like they righted the mistake on the day it happened rather than having to spend more money to get a “discount”. I doubt I’ll go back, and if I do I will be calling a different location to see if they would honor the voucher rather than going back to the Montgomeryville location.

Showed up a few minutes early to my appointment. I was told my massage therapist was running a few minutes behind, that’s fine. She ended up being 20 minutes behind which was a problem for me as I really needed to leave on time. Would have been great to have gotten a call letting me know that she was running late. I could have rescheduled and I wouldn’t have had to drive all the way there only to really be unable to get a full massage. So that was a waste of my time, but scheduling problems happen. WHILE I was waiting for 20 minutes for the therapist to be ready, the 3 women working at the desk were talking about how annoying customers are, and they’re not very smart because they don’t understand how the coupons work. Are you kidding me?? I cancelled my Hand and Stone membership and I will never go back to the Montgomeryville location. There’s a Massage Envy down the road.

Blake = Awesome message

I set up an 80 minute massage as I’ve been having lots of headaches/migraines so I assumed the therapist would really focus on my scalp/sinuses and neck. She never even touched my scalp or sinuses. Honestly very disappointing.

Beth (massage) and Nancy (facial) are the best this Hand and Stone location has to offer. Book early they are in high demand.
Cortney G.
Strongly recommend! Phenomenal staff and soothing facility. Pleasantly surprised at the very reasonable prices!

The receptionists always greet us by our first names. Our therapists always ask how we are feeling and what we would like them to work on during the session.

My therapist Giselle (Airport Square) is AMAZING! She knows exactly what my preferences are and is always accommodating. I always leave feeling relieved of my pain and stress. Thank you!

My girl had a massage appt and while I waited in lobby all I can say is we will never be back after witnessing how horribly mean the manager Lauren was. She was demeaning to the employees and rude to customers.

Liz is the absolute best!!!

Ask for Giselle. She is the best!

I was shocked because my massage therapist had long fake fingernails and I could feel them during my massage! Very unprofessional! I can't believe the management doesn't have guidelines about this...Try Massage Envy instead!!

Worst couples massage ever. Very rushed and not very thorough. This is tha se ond and last time we will use any Hand and Stone Franchise. Voiced our experience and displease with the front desk help and all we got was "sorry" which is pathetic!! Go to the mall and use the massage chairs there, you will get a better massage for a fraction of the cost!
Michele M.
Worst massage I ever had. I paid for a 50 minute massage and added an extra 15 minute head rub. The head rub was pathetic, the massage didn’t do a thing, and the whole thing was over in 53 minutes. NOT the length I paid for. Woke up the next day in more pain than I have been in for weeks. I only went here because I had a gift card and even though it still had a balance remaining, I will NOT be back. Awful experience all around.
Jason R.
Great staff = great experience

Horrible customer service you can’t charge me for something I didn’t schedule. Flourtown way better I’ll keep traveling 30 minutes for good customer vs 5 min for horrible customer service.

The ladies at the front desk were so delightful, my esthetician was so sweet and informative and overall the experience was amazing! Will be coming back 100%!!

Lol my massage "expired" after I bought two and used one then waited a few months to try and use the second one. Down with your lousy business. What a joke. Bait & Switch Montgomeryville is a SCAM.

Wonderful

Giselle is an amazing masseuse!! Listens, applies the right amount of pressure and puts me in a very relaxed state. Cynthia is wonderful with facials!! So knowledgeable about skin care. She really loves what she does.

They say walk ins welcome, yet if you want to make an appointment over the phone, you're forced to give them a credit card. I'm not comfortable with giving out my credit card information to get a slot that I'd be paying for with a gift card anyways. With so many businesses having their systems hacked these days, it's not safe.
Kristina E.
This was the worst massage "rub down" I have ever had, I left more stressed then going in, I woke in so much pain, can not move the left side of my neck.

I came with one of my employees and was treated much different than her. She was offered a package and had great service. I dressed down in sweats and a t-shirt with no makeup and believe they judged a book by its cover. Didn’t offer me a package or just had me check out even though I was actually interested in package. Not consistent service between us two. My employee who’s Caucasian said for the first time she saw discrimination. Why would the same person offer her a package but not I? I’m baffled and when called I spoke to a manager I got a woman named Marissa. She said she was the manager but not once did she apologize or seemed to care. She took my info and said the other manager was busy and someone will call me back. So currently waiting on call back.

I have been a monthly member for years and am embarrassed it took me so long to do a review! I cannot recommend this Hand and Stone highly enough! Everyone on the team is customer focused and quick with a smile. My spirit is lifted the moment I walk in the door. Alan is my massage therapist and he is the bomb! He customizes my massage to focus on the areas that may be bothering me at the time. I always have an exceptional massage, without exception! Ask for Alan...you will not be sorry! The owner, Connie has built an incredible team and you owe it to yourself to try them out. The monthly membership is more than affordable, and a gift you should give yourself!
Rob K.
Very clean, and massages are awesome! I am a monthly member and never had a bad experience.
Amanda M.
Used an old gift card - that was expired. The GC was for 80 min and they only honored 50 mins. I'm happy they took it (which is why 2 stars) but when I asked why a GC would expire after one year she just kept pointing to the area where it said it was expired as if I couldn't read or understand the concept. The massage therapist was nice but in all honesty, wasn't worth my hour. Felt like she was quickly petting me. Added on a scalp massage for an extra $15 and that came outta my 50 mins. It wasn't good. Sad to have spent my bday here. U

Amanda for massage and Liz for facials.. ...epic!!!!

I recently purchased a couples massage package and set appointment for a Saturday with wifey, showed up and was asked for gift card..did not have on me but they had us set and scheduled for our appointment. The "Twist" Sam the mgr. Says they need the card to move forward...so I said no worries we will reschedule so there is no issue and that's when she says "you will have to pay a cancelation charge x2.. Smfh. Then after she ask the question of did I purchase Card from there store she now is willing to accommodate us. Now I'm pissed off and tense from the exchange and can't imagine getting a message ???? So $209.00 for the original purchase and $100.00 for cancelation is now ridiculous... I want somebody's ass for ruining my f@-"-#-#g weekend...
Ariel W.
Horrible employee kept trying to refer me to other places and dermotogists just went in to relax and got nothing but a head ache also called a week after that appointment to cancel my "membership" and just saw they charged 300 dollars on my account horrible service!!!
Megan J.
I was a member of the company. However, I had to cancel my membership in December for financial reasons. I enjoyed my visits and the employees were always helpful and pleasant. The biggest issue I have is with is your cancelation policy. I think it is unfair for you to expect customers to use up their remaining packages in 90 days. You should offer the choice to get money refunded for the packages that they do not use at the time of cancelation. Also, I found that there were not as many advantages to being a member as I had hoped. The lower price for the massages or facials is nice, but it was not worth it to have the money taken out of my account every month. The membership would have been more beneficial if I was charged the member price for every visit instead of the monthly payments.
Tina J.
Absolutely love this place Jason is the best!
