I had an amazing time here! It is located perfectly around the back where it’s peaceful and quiet. I was greeted with a warm smile and hello by their spa concierges. They offered me water, tea or sparkling wine before entering the locker room. I chose tea to start my relaxation time and since my 90 minute deep tissue massage was at 8am on that Black Friday morning! :D It was busier than I had anticipated so I was only able to enjoy the steam room all by myself. The massage was incredible! Sandra, my therapist was attentive and highly skilled. She also helped me find the lounge area where I was supposed to meet her. Thank you Sandra for taking such good care of me! I can’t wait to return.

Had the most wonderful deep tissue massage given to me by Hazel. If I could, I would have packed her up and taken her back to Atlanta with me. Now it seems I'll have to make return trips!

Very nice spa to relax at and get a massage. It’s tranquil, not too crowded, private, peaceful, and luxurious. The views are great and there is a sun room to relax in with the sound of a water sculpture. There’s snacks, teas, and sparkling wine. It’s my favorite spa in the area. Took my mom for Mother’s Day and it was great!

Love! Relaxing atmosphere and great spaces to enjoy before or after your treatment, including rain showers, steam room, sauna, outdoor whirlpool, and indoor relaxation area. There's a great coed lounge as well with indoor and outdoor seating. Cozy robes and rubber sandals are provided. No spa cafe inside, contrary to what is listed on some websites, but there are water / tea stations and light snacks. For parking, drive past the Rosewood lobby parking area, past the corporate offices, and keep going until you see the spa on your left.

Always have exceptional massages but expect to pay the highest prices in the South Bay. It’s an indulgence that I justify about once a year. Does seem pricey particularly since there are not his/her hot tubs. Compared to many resorts the amenities are underwhelming.

The Spa is in in a very beautiful location and is well equipped. There are convenient places for rest and relaxation, swimming pool sauna, everything you need for a comfortable stay. I would especially like to note the high professionalism of Vinsent's masseur-after his massage l became 30 years younger))

My swedish massage at sense spa was still relaxing. My friends and I took full advantage of the amenities. We had breakfast before our services and a late lunch afterwards. It was the perfect day.

Sense is an ultra-luxurious, peaceful, and gorgeous spa located in the Rosewood Sand resort. Surrounded by picturesque mountain views, this spa is the perfect location to spend a day pampering yourself or celebrating a special occasion. Most recently, I enjoyed a spa day, a birthday gift from my husband. For a Monday, it was an incredibly relaxing and peaceful experience. I enjoyed a 90-minute Swedish massage, although the pressure was slightly more firm than I had hoped. Additionally, I loved relaxing in the cozy relaxation area and private outdoor courtyard and using the amenities, such as the sauna and steam room. Complimentary champagne, tea, and light snacks are also provided for you. My only comment about Sense is that they should offer more of an extensive menu for food besides the complementary light snacks available. Besides that, I've always had a lovely experience at Sense, and I highly recommend it.

I’ve had several massages here and like all the therapists. However, the 5% surcharge for enhanced cleaning measures is irritating. Given that I didn’t book a roadside massage at a strip mall, I would have already assumed stringent cleaning measures were in place. So, if you’re charging a 5% surcharge on top of the several hundred for the actual massage, I would expect the facilities to be immaculate. Today, in the waiting area , the lounge chairs were greasy, the towels were crumpled and lying on the floor, and nobody seemed to notice the chewed up, browned discarded apple core. This made the extra cleaning fee all the more irritating. Terry Miller

My wife and I booked a couples massage after a previous appointment - in person at their front desk at check out. A week later on arrival for the scheduled treatment, they couldn't locate the appointment and told us there was nothing they could do and they were busy. Offering they could see us in the evening and "we are welcome to hang out" - yeah sure we have time to stick around for 4-5h until you make time for us after to messed up. Thanks for valuing our time... Will bring our business elsewhere in the future. Edit: They have actually reached out to my wife after I wrote the review and offered a free couples massage as apology for the mix up. Upping my rating as a result.

Such a treat to know all amenities were available and open, post pandemic. Not crowded at all. Had my massage with Aldo who was great. Can't wait to come back!

While the spa and amenities were lovely, everything was clean and they took Covid precautions, my massage was not great. first there seemed to be a booking miscommunication. I was told there was no female masseuse available (fine) but I got to my appointment and he said “ deep tissue” instead of Swedish. I had to correct him, but luckily he was able to do both. I explained I needed focus on my neck and shoulders, specifically areas of tension due to breastfeeding, which was the whole reason for me getting a massage. I had a 90 minute massage and honestly it seemed like he avoided the area I needed work on. I left disappointed and now I’m awake at 4am and upset because my neck and shoulders are still tight, and I spent a fair amount of money. How do you say “ you missed a spot” at the end of a massage?! I’ll need to book another appointment with another spa just to get the work done properly.

As a business traveler I get to experience spas all over the country. At Sense I felt welcomed and taken care of throughout my visit. They offer exceptional customer service, superb spa experience and lovely ambiance. I left rejuvenated and ready for my busy work schedule. Truly hope I get to return to Menlo Park and this lovely spa soon. Thank you to my massage therapist and the entire team. I felt pampered and appreciated.

Wonderful day spa at the Rosewood. Went on a Thursday to recharge and had a wonderful facial and mani/ pedi. Facilities are nice (sauna, steam room, relaxation spaces). My only negative was being rushed through the end of my manicure because of a scheduling issue on their side. The nail technician was extremely apologetic, but manager and other guest were a tad rude. Would definitely go back regardless - go here if you need some respite from the city.

Very nice amenities for before and after spa treatments. Only thing noteworthy (that’s not worth taking away stars) is the massage room was definitely too bright during my service.

Beautiful spa, wonderful experience, would definitely go back.

Staff are disorganized and unprofessional as noted by other reviewers. I waited 25 minutes in the waiting lounge because the front desk didn’t let their nail technician know I had arrived. I was charged over $200 for a very basic mani / pedi where most other places charge $80 for a top quality mani / pedi. I realize you pay a premium for a “spa” mani / pedi, but that’s usually for amenities (of which there are none to enjoy now) or some sort of special treatment like complimentary samples on your way out (they now charge $$ for samples). You can’t use the pool as a spa guest ... and understandably because of the pandemic they have no magazines, no food, etc. Your only amenities are hand sanitizer and water. Why haven’t they dropped their prices? Or at least made up for the lack of experience with exceptional service? The Spa Manager denied me a complimentary sample of product on my way out. Upon checkout I wasn’t asked how my service or experience was. They offered no apologies after the mishap of keeping me waiting. My appointment was cut short due to their lack of communication, but I was still charged the full amount even though the service was incomplete. I was a loyal guest, but I won’t be returning. Horrible guest experience and they squeezed every penny from me that they could including a safety premium surcharge on top of an already outrageous bill.

Absolutely best spa in the peninsula. It's gorgeous and lavish. Steam and sauna rooms are divine. I've never had a bad massage here. Vast majority of them have been an A. Definitely go to Ileana for massage. She is very talented and intuitive. I'll continue being a regular at Sense.

I believe they overall spa has some teal work to do. Simple spa amenities are missing as in fresh fruit, water for tea that is hot. As a lifestyle member I’m enormously hopeful upgrades to the fitness centre to include a power plate, wood way tread trainers, and outdoor classes as we are in sunny California. I’m also willing to devote time to help the new management with these. The newly appointed spa director has incredible vision. He is the answer we are looking for.

The spa at Rosewood is top of the line in every way. I set up my massage with Sunita, who was extremely helpful and knew everything about the spa. She answered all my questions and made the scheduling process seamless. The front desk staff was super kind and helpful as well. My massage was wonderful, one of the best I have had in a long time. Overall a great time and will be back very soon!

Had the most amazing experience at The Sense Spa @ The Rosewood Hotel today. The staff were fantastic and made my birthday very special. My masseuse Katrina was absolutely brilliant and the hostess Parissa was so warm and welcoming. This hotel spa rivals some of the bigger chains on park lane and gives a much more personalised touch. I am very fussy and I had no complaints. Loved it - will be coming back! Thank you!

The best massage Ever. Very relaxing and comforting.

I liked it... But way over priced, even in this area.

Relaxing massage and nice sauna and steam bath.

It looks nice from the outside, but the staff is really unprofessional and disorganized.

I had a wonderful massage ("Fertile Land") and a custom facial. The facility and staff are wonderful. I enjoyed the outdoor hot tub, sauna, steam room, and showers, then read in the women's lounge and the indoor/outdoor co-ed lounge area before and between my treatments. It's certainly very $$ so not somewhere to come for your regular massage, but a fun treat. The spa hours are also good (last service 7:15pm on weekdays). I'm feeling relaxed and will be back!

Very friendly and professional staff, excellent spa facilities great facial treatments, I really enjoyed my time here!

Fantastic facilities (sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, etc) and our masseuses (Monique and one other lady) were great. The couple's massage room was huge and had private bathroom, tub, shower and fridge. Want to go back asap!

Best place to relax in the Bay Area

I got a gift card for the spa. I got tired of calling, line is always busy, looks like they only got one person to handle the phone. I tried to book via email, and I got really disappointed when I was asked my credit card information just to book an appointment. I think, it's not a very good strategy from their part, it doesn't feel very welcoming. They lost me as a potential client, the good thing is that this is not the only spa in the area and that I didn't pay for the gift card.

my favourite spa and massage place, not crowded at all ,very nice ambience, great staff ,and service .

The spa is very clean and provides full amenities. I booked a couples massage and when we arrived they accidentally booked individual massages which isnt that big of a deal, but we did get a lot of push back to utilize the pool and hot tub. I wish they provided more of a co-ed spa and made it easy to utilize the pool.

This place was exactly what I needed. In the middle of a move and was feeling the stress. I went here with my gf and we both enjoyed our experience. We did their locally influenced packages and felt they were worth the cost. I also enjoyed the community lounge, sauna, and men's lounge. The staff was what you would want at a spa, quiet yet attentive. Overall, I would highly recommend coming here, we plan on going back.

This review is for Sense, the spa at the Rosewood Sand Hill. Beautiful, clean facilities where you can and should spend most of a day before and after your treatment(s). Arrive early to relax in the lounge with tea and/or spa water and all sorts of reading materials. Spend time post-treatment in the whirlpool, steam room, or sauna. Staff is super professional. Could do with a few more extras to get pretty post-treatment (face lotion, straightening irons), and it'd be nice if pool access were included. All in all, a really nice getaway spot. 60-minute treatments are around $150, 90-minutes for $195. Sense takes SpaFinder gift cards.
