Went for drinks at the cottage. Never disappoints!!
My husband came here on our mini honeymoon following our recent wedding! It was a fabulous stay and relaxing! The food at The View was spectacular and enjoyed the dining experience! We loved our room and the view of the lake was gorgeous! We had massages as well at the Spa which were fantastic! We can’t wait to make it a tradition to come back every year!

I visited the spa for a much needed treat to myself and found the whole experience to be outstanding. I highly, highly recommend.
Nice grounds needs updating ASAP. I was not impressed with the interior at all rooms need major ups upgrading. No place to order food out late night, no food vending machines. Last call is 10 pm. The mirror lake itself is beautiful we sat on the beach and took a walk around it. Go to smoke signals for dinner and go EARLY otherwise the line will be obscenely long. Town is cute not many stores to shop for either men or women clothing. Most stores were novelty shops. Free cookies 24 hours a day!

My husband and I booked the elopement package at Mirror Lake Inn, which was fantastic. The package included a 2-night stay in the Colonial house, strawberries, and champagne upon arrival, two MLI robes, access to an officiant, breakfast each day, a $50.00 spa credit per person, and a romantic dinner at the View. All taxes and gratuities were included! The women we worked with helped us with every detail. She reserved our dinner for 10 at the View, officiated our wedding, mailed in our paperwork, and made arrangements to have ice for our post-ceremony champagne toast. Our dinner at the View was amazing, the food was perfect, and the service was exceptional. The server even took our photo and printed it for all the guests following dinner. We also received a custom welcome on the menu. We loved our time at the inn and enjoyed the pool, cookies, and spa. The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and it was like a home away from home. I also enjoyed the coffee and tea out in the lobby area daily and the kayaks at the beachfront. The colonial house suite was beautiful as was the mountain view building and room. I highly recommend MLI. We cannot wait to return to celebrate our wedding anniversary!! Thank you for the most memorable weekend!!
We stayed 2 weeks ago - family of four with 2 young girls. Had a great time - awesome views from hotel room, good customer service; will definitely go back! Enjoyed the private beach with unlimited use of the kayaks and SUPs!

Needs updating, restaurant closes too early.
Simply breathtaking. A perfect combination of lux and North Country rustic. The property grounds are tinged with fragrant woodsmoke from the main building fireplace. The flowers and grounds are immaculate, and I especially appreciated the native Adirondack garden, as well as the herb garden. The room was gorgeous, the beds plush and comfortable. Sitting in the sunroom with the doors open, the smoke from the fireplace and the fresh mountain air, the view of the lake are all unforgettable. Well worth the price, will definitely be returning.
Gorgeous room, great service.

Great dinner, amazing food and service and the views are unbelievable
This is a fine hotel in all respects. The grounds are metculously kept and the flower gardens are just beautiful. We loved our stay there
We always have lunch at the cottage. The view is wonderful. It can get busy
I will start off by saying I wish I could give it more stars. This place was the best place I have ever stayed at. The whole experience was amazing. I will try not to make this review too long so that you can read others, but there is so much to say. First off I will say that the view and the lake were amazing. We got a room on the first floor, which only had a partial view but it was so great, I can't imagine what the top floor view could be. The room was very spacious and had a nice blackout curtain to separate the living room area from the beds. This was helpful for in the morning if others were still sleeping people could still go into the living space and enjoy the view in the morning. Our room had two sinks which I have never seen in a room before. This was surprisingly very helpful for our family of 4. When someone was using the bathroom others could still use the mirror and the sink outside of the bathroom. We also enjoyed the Cottage restaurant which had nice outdoor seating to see the lake. It was convenient to walk to, as well as the town where we had a day of shopping and looking at the Olympic center, definitely recommend checking out if you are looking for activities to go do. Sadly one of the days we did go it was very rainy which made it hard to have a lot of time to enjoy the lake. Luckily the indoor and outdoor pools are amazing both being heated and very large. The indoor one was certainly our favorite being kept very clean and having a waterfall and bridge in it. The hot tub was very nice as well with lots of room and music and lights. All of the staff were very helpful during our stay and made us feel very welcome. Some activities that are nice on the grounds without even having to get in the car could include. The giant chess board, cornhole, ping pong, tennis, kayaking, or paddleboarding (both available to take out at the boat house for free). The beach is nice but the bottom drops off very quickly from about 3ft to 12ft. I guess I didn't do a very good job keeping this short but I hope it will help you make your decision about staying here easier. :)
This place over all is amazing. I stayed at this hotel for my 10 year anniversary. The sunroom over looking the water was absolutly beautiful. It set the standard for all my future bookings. The only bad-ish thing is elevator is small. The staff could not be anymore polite and wonderful. This trip was needed. It was such a stress reliever.
Nice spa. Staff was pleasant. The sales pitch of upcharges at the beginning of the massage was annoying at such an upscale spa. How about offer that at sign in and get right to the massage if your counting minutes of a massage to sell me more things and chat during the expensive massage. Massage was excellent after it got underway, very thorough, lots of honed technique used by masseuse. Lounge was comfortable but lacked snacks, only apples offered. Put some snacks out that have substance. Spa amenities were enjoyable, steam room, hot tub, and showers. It would be nice to have used the hotel pool to meet up with my husband but we found it was not allowed. Overall good experience and I'll go back with girlfriend's for a girls day but probably not with my husband for a couples day since we couldn't enjoy spaces together.
Honestly, if you’re not using the waterfront or every amenity they offer, these rooms are wildly overpriced. Service is ok, it’s a hard hotel to park at as the lot fills up quickly and is difficult to navigate in general.
From the front desk to our room overlooking Mirror Lake, everything is 1st Class!! Will definitely be back again!!!
Beautiful lake. Well appointed resort. Love that it's so close to town. But far enough away that you are not near the current (Summer 2022) construction in town. Great place

A beautiful luxury Inn on the lake. All staff very friendly and helpful, even if you pass them on the grounds. There are beautiful flowers/landscaping in all parts of the property. Cornhole, giant size chess board and firepits up on the hill. Inside there are lovely common spaces overlooking the Lake, by the fireplaces. Room (Oak knoll room- 3rd floor) with full lake view, very comfortable, spacious bathroom and a sink outside the bathroom as well. There is no coffeemaker or microwave in the room, but I think you can ask for it. There is coffee/tea/cookies in the lobby. We made use of the private beach and kayaks/canoe/rowboat and paddleboards. Very peaceful places to sit in Adirondack chairs and just enjoying the view.
They gave me free money over 10Million to not say anything negative. So far I’ve perches a private military to hunt down Walter white. Your welcome people.
It was a cheaper motel we got what we expected
Amazing upscale hotel. I last went here in August of 2017, so this review is of the hotel at the time. The view of Mirror Lake and mountains in the distance is spectacular. The room I stayed in was very nice and was extremely clean when we walked in. Dining options in the hotel taste great and the service I had was excellent. The main lounge is very cozy, usually quiet, and full of games and access to a porch that overlooks the lake. Would highly recommend.
Beautiful old school resort, lake views all over, great food, pretty expensive, but great effort and execution.
My room had a big balcony which was facing the lake. Every hotel staff member including service worker I talked to was very friendly and always had smiles.
actually beautiful, would recommend
A beautiful Inn on Mirror Lake. Staff is so friendly and helpful. Food is delicious.
Great place to stay ????
Superb service and a suite with a view! My sisters and I plan to make this a yearly event!
We’ve done several upstate New York trips, and this was our favorite hotel that we’ve stayed in. Views of the lake are so serene and beautiful, and the hotel truly cares to make your stay as seamless as possible. Our room was so nice and clean, and the location was perfectly central. Highly recommend. We hope to be back!
My wife and I have stayed at the Mirror Lake Inn three times over the past 8 years and each stay has been magical. We have enjoyed the Spa and the View restaurant each time and we look forward to coming back. It definitely has a rustic, outdoorsy vibe in both appearance (those seeking ultra modern accommodations look elsewhere), as well attitude (no cell phone policy in common areas). I understand that all rooms are not created equal with regards to the scenery out of your window, but the common areas and dining facilities all have that million dollar view of the lake and Adirondack mountains in the background. I only wish I made more money so I could stay more often because an Economy Lodge this is not.
I ended up getting very ill when I arrived at the inn(not Covid). They were so helpful to my husband and me. Staff did all they could to help us. We travel a lot. We have not seen this level of service in a long time. Boy, was it ever appreciated. The inn itself is older but very, very well taken care of. A walk to restaurants and town. The view was so lovely from our room. These owners know what they are doing. I felt like I was at a lovely old hotel on Lake Geneva, Switzerland. We will go back. Everything was well appointed, linens and bath, etc.
BEST message I've EVER had!!!!!

Beautiful place, amazing winter weekend getaway. Staff really friendly and available always for a quick chat
Beautiful, well run, luxurious, hotel on the lake in Lake Placid (but really Mirror Lake). The main building is across the street from the lake but they have a couple of guest houses right on the water. They also have a beach where you can hang out and borrow boating equipment. I thought the rooms were top class and spacious. No balconies but you open the sliding doors and sit and vegetate staring at the lake. The restaurant is very fancy (and very expensive) but the food and service were top notch (though I do wish the menu was a little more expansive). It’s also just a few hundred yards from the top of town. So it’s great to just leave the car at the hotel and walk through town. The indoor pool is actually large enough to do laps (thanks) and they have a jacuzzi and dry sauna. Worth a long weekend if you like to be pampered.

Classic rustic elegance
Beautiful resort and perfect for couples . We went there to celebrate our anniversary and we had an amazing time . The place is clean , everyone was so nice . We had the view of the lake and at the restaurant they had the menu printed our names wishing us a happy anniversary n took a picture of us at the end . They had a bar that you can enjoy a few drinks . We will definitely be back .
I have frequented the spa and the cottage but never stayed at the inn. I'm so glad I finally did! It was perfect from beginning to end and the view of the lake from the room was incredible. Can't wait to stay again!
Great town the hotel was very nice , but over priced
We stayed in the Mountain View Building. The location was great, the room was clean, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and the view from the room was beautiful.
Fabulous for the wedding
Excellent food and service
Our stay was amazing at the Mirror Lake Inn. I've been to many resort hotels and this is one of the best I've ever to been in terms quality of service, room accommodations, amenities, charm, and incredible food. The price is on par with the degree of service you get here. Our room had an amazing view of the lake right out the window. Beyond the room, near the main lobby is a comfortable fireplace seating rooms that offer a quiet escape from the business of whatever you are there for. And don't forget to stop by the spa. OMG, it maybe difficult to get a good reservation within a day but even just enjoying the casual amenities of the spa bath and incredible showers was worth the stay. I can't say enough on how awesome this establishment is. If you feel like something different for food, within walking distance in Lake Placid there are restaurants that no matter what they serve do not disappoint for their quality of food. I'd recommend them all.
Our second night was a nightmare. We woke up from not having power in our hotel room. It was pitch dark. Called the front desk and we were told the "town was having issues with power." No apologies whatsoever. We didn't have power for the duration of our stay. Had to drag our luggages to the staircase as elevator wasnt working. When we got out of our hotel the rest of the town had power. For a "luxury" hotel you would think they'd have no issues and will be prepared for a loss of electricity. Place is considered a "luxury" hotel. We didn't feel like that when we walked in. Lobby staff arent friendly and are not knowledgeable about the place you could see in Lake Placid. Their restaurant "The View" was okay. Food tasted okay. First course was so bad I couldn't eat it. Server sounded so robotic and fake. Save your money and go somewhere else. For at least $500/night, this isn't the place for you.
Cons: not kid friendly. The View restaurant is too formal or at least tries to be and not kid friendly at all. No room service but still added $14/day gratuity to final bill - for what? I paid separate gratuity for all services. No free water bottles. Free cookies are rock hard and feel old. Power went out a whole day during our stay. Pros: Clean, cozy and upscale inn. All rooms have a lake view, however the property is not directly on the lake but across the street with two small buildings between you and the lake. The pool and jacuzzi and sauna in the basement were awesome and empty for us to enjoy.
Loved the room in the Cottage. Had the best view of the lake and town right from our king sized bed. The fireplace gave it a cozy feel. Will definitely revisit?
beautiful hotel with amazing amenities. the hotel had a spa, mini ice skating rink, beautiful restaurants, a movie theater, a game room including bowling alleys, and so much more.
My stay was good. Girl at reservation desk was snooty and rude over the phone when trying to change a reservation. She kept talking over me so I asked to speak to manager and he told me that girl was in tears claiming I was rude and called her an idiot which is a LIE!! He accused me of being the problem stating he believed the receptionist . I expected more
Didn't stay here, just went and walked around. Looked beautiful
The place is nice but not safe in terms of icing in the winter. Ice precautions are not in place and it's simply dangerous to walk around. I slipped on ice on their driveway going down to the lake near the reception are. Pretty bad. Hurt my back, head, elbows. There was simply no salt or any type of effort to melt the ice and clean the high traffic area. When I mentioned that to the reception area to warn other people walking around and told them that I hit my head on ice, there was not even a "sorry". Nothing. Next day some woman called and in a pretty rude tone asked if I want to file a report. Again no "sorry about that", "can we do anything for you?" nothing. I am not the type that would file reports or ask for free drinks, but complete lack of sympathy was pretty disturbing and frankly weird for "luxury" hotel. I bet they would be much nicer if I would call an ambulance.. Inconvenient switching of the elevators and floors just to get to the lobby. Restaurant staff is very nice but breakfast is too basic, at least take yogurt out of the store container and serve it on a plate for that price.. Our room was not there when we arrived. Acted surprised and "upgraded" us to the very end of the hotel to walk 10 minutes to reach lobby. You have to turn on sauna yourself and carry large key in your pocket to get in there. Anyway, not a "small luxury hotel" for my taste at $650 a night plus $300 for dinner..
Stay At An Authentic Luxury Adirondack Inn! This hotel is situated in the beautiful town of Lake Placid and offers fantastic views of Mirror Lake and the local mountains. The staff at the Inn were very accommodating, helpful and knowledgeable of the local area. The rooms were cozy, with a beautiful sitting area that overlooked the lake…the perfect place to sip your morning coffee. Great amenities offered at this property ranging from EV chargers, a ski room, spa & sauna facility and many more. Would highly recommend this hotel to couples or families looking to go on an Adirondack adventure.
beautiful place, it's worth coming here. Lakes, forests and peace of mind

Great place to visit, great service, great food
Always a pleasure. The lunch was fantastic...as always
No microwave s
I stayed here before the commendations are excellent! Looking forward to going there
Loved everything about this place! They were very accommodating when it came to renting skis, late check out, restaurant recommendations and much more. The amenities are top-of-the-line and the service was incredible. I can’t wait to come back next year!! Perfect location walking distance to town quick shuttle ride to the mountain
Overall it was a beautiful place and experience. For the amount that you pay per night, I expected a more comfortable bed. The bed was so uncomfortable that it was enough to never return overnight. The restaurant was beautiful and had great food. They have one of the best Moscato wines that I've ever tasted. We love the area and the small town feel.
Top shelf service. Great for families.

Nice place to stay
Lovely lunch at the cottages, in a heated gondola!!
Hotel is beautifully decorated. Spa was nice and Olivia was sweet and did a great pedicure!
We celebrated our 35Th wedding anniversary and we were treated to champagne and chocolates by the staff! We loved everything about the mirror lake inn. The accommodations were beautiful and the food at the View restaurant was amazing. They even had our menus printed with our anniversary and took a photo of us!
Absolutely beautiful and the staff is excellent!

We needed a getaway to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and chose The Mirror Lake Inn for exactly what we experienced during our stay- lovely, well-kept luxury accomodations with a magnificent view of the lake and mountains, great food (at the resorrt and nearby) and a terrific staff. Tonight is our last night here and we asked the front desk for help printing something we'll need for the tomorrow, and as that was being taken care of we casually mentioned our anniversary to Alix and the other ladies who chatted with us about our stay. To our surprise, housekeeping arrived at our door a few minutes later with a lovely card, some chocolates and a bottle of champagne to help us celebrate! There is no wonder that Mirror Lake Inn earns the Four Diamond status from AAA each year. The stay is worth it and we'll be back!

Love it for now but have never been inside. My car got stuck in the snow out front.
expensive rooms were dated no cafe open late no coffee pot in room missing convenient outlets
Excellent place to stay in Lake Placid! Our room was clean and well furnished, and the view was incredible. Our room had a rustic cozy feeling, but with fast wifi, USB charging outlets, and a modern tv it felt like having the best of both worlds. Both on site restaurants and the spa amenities are all wonderful. Hope to stay again!
Stayed for a weekend with my wife and enjoyed ourselves. Staff here is GREAT. The resort itself is older but very well-kept and has a really cozy winter charm to it. Incredible location with a super short walk to the main section of town. We felt really comfortable the entire time we were there and although they were pretty booked, it didn’t seem like it. We had a beautiful room with a really nice view looking at the lake. Bed was comfortable, toilet had some stuff in it from a previous guest but just flushed it down. I will say though, for the price you pay, some complimentary waters would be nice to have in that mini fridge. As for the spa- No availability for a couples massage so my wife did the massage on her own and said it was a fantastic experience. Very clean and very professional. She loved it. The View restaurant was a decent experience, but very pricey for very small portions. I understand the fine dining concept as I spent many years in the service industry but spent almost $200 and left hungry. We also noticed that our Waitress seemed to go out of her way to take every other couples photo around us and printed them out a copy for a souvenir but did not do it for us- didn’t even mention it. It was a little bizarre and left us feeling uncomfortable because that would have been a nice gift but oh well. Next time we visit, we will probably find other fine dining accommodations. All together I think this is a great place to stay in Lake Placid. If we can catch this at a better price one weekend, then we will certainly come again. Our experience here was great for a romantic weekend away from the city.
We stayed here in September and had an excellent time. Location wise in Lake Placid it doesn't get much better than the Mirror Lake Inn, your about a 2 minute walk into town that has tons of shops and restaurants. We considered the Whiteface Lodge as well which is about 2 miles from town and very nice too, but the location of the Mirror Lake Inn was to hard to pass up. Also the food was outstanding at both restaurants on the property especially at the View. I'd highly recommend it here for your trip to Lake Placid.
Was honestly shocked at how beautiful the view from our room was. It was very expensive but absolutely worth it. Rooms have an old time feel but are still updated. 10/10
Outstanding hotel, friendly staff, spacious lounge area and very elegant.
Room was large and had some nice amenities. I have stayed in other rooms in the same price range that were more luxurious. The staff went above and beyond, and were friendly and courteous. The restaurant, which has its own review, was excellent. It was a wonderful stay in a beautiful place, but not quite worth the dollars.
Great weekend stay
Fantastic relaxing destination. The Cottages and accommodations are A+! I highly recommend for a romantic getaway.
Best breakfast ever. Eggs, chorizo, coffee, orange juice and mimosa
Absolutely gorgeous... you are treated like a king (and queen!)
We had our elopement ceremony at the Mirror Lake Inn in early October 2021. The hotel offers an elopement package, including the officiant, two nights in their Placid suite, a spa service (we opted to upgrade to a couple's massage), dinner at The View, breakfast for two days, robes and chocolate-covered strawberries and sparkling wine at check-in. The location is along the lake, and the hotel is gorgeous (despite the main building's age). Our room was in the Colonial House, which is right along the water with panoramic views of Mirror Lake. The Placid Suite was massive, with a large living room with a fire, king-sized bed, sitting area, bar area, fireplace and a private balcony. An entry hallway included ample closet storage space (great for when you're bringing enough wardrobe for a wedding). The bathroom was colossal, with a massive whirlpool tub, two vanities and a walk-in shower large enough for two people (including separate shower controls). The staff was courteous and accommodating (especially as we had to deal with several deliveries for the elopement and requested a late check-out to accommodate our spa appointment). The elopement package offers either the fishing dock or your room's balcony for the ceremony location. We opted for the fishing dock, which provides a fantastic view of the lake, the town and the surrounding hills and mountains (which in October were in peak color). Our ceremony went great (big thanks to Erin, who officiated), and we have fantastic photos from around the property (our photographer was Gallery Nine North). We're planning on coming back for a future anniversary!
Beautiful place to stay with excellent service
The staff is outstanding. The rooms are lovely as is the amazing view.
An amazing resort with a beautiful view, great staff, and such a cozy feel.
Absolutely beautiful and very comfortable. Highly recommended.
We had a buffet lunch there as a group. Very elegant place. The food was good and plentiful. We didn't overnight there.
to hospitality and amazing mirror lake setting there's a reason why it's number one..!!
Food was phenomenal.
Incredible food and service
Excellent food, bad driveway for bikes
Was there during Americade. Food there was absolutely fantastic ????. The atmosphere is wonderful. Can't wait to go again.
This was a wonderful experience for our anniversary. Worth every cent and we'll be going back.

Was it because my son got married there that stars were in my eyes or because the establishment truly was fabulous?! I had a wonderful time. Thank you so much for the great service! Beautiful Inn. ?????
A beautiful resort.
Wedding was lovely food delicious
Outstanding on all levels! A true "resort" in every sense, with charm, ambience, stellar service and food. The grounds are beautiful, they have 2 pools, wonderful comfortable areas all over to enjoy the incredible views. A special shout out to Stephanie and all staff, who made our car club of 26 feel at home while meeting every need. The View is their outstanding restaurant, food, drinks and excellent service. We will definitely be back!
Truly a historic gem. Very well maintained and modern in many ways but always has that constant nod to it's history and deep past. We brought our Porsche car club up for a long weekend and everyone loved their rooms, the views and all the people that work and keep this place at the very top of places one should visit. Special thanks to Stephanie who made it all happen and made this trip one of our best.
Guys wine and vibe it's a small venue so waited for a bit for seating

Beautiful place historic old school hotel but up to date amenities. Only downside prices are very very high hard to justify I think but obviously they have no problem getting it...
We did not stay but all reviews show this as being an outstanding vacation spot.
Friendly staff, nice views of the Lake. Many great choices of restaurants on the property, with very good food.
Great place, beautiful location, incredible service.
Always welcoming! We love the Cookies and Tea tradition!
6 Stars if I could. The rooms were clean and bed comfy. The view from the room was breathtaking. Small walk to the lake shore and town. Complimentary kayaking was amazing. Indoor pool and jacuzzi felt intimate. Very beautiful scenery all around. Now the staff ... From the moment i walked in they treated me well. They told me about local things to do and restaurants to check out. Once they found out it was my anniversary weekend, they went the extra mile. They gave us the best room with an amazing view. The dinner had an anniversary menu. They took and picture of our anniversary dinner and framed it for us. Man best experience and service I've ever received in an establishment. I felt like a millionaire. Haha. That might be a bit much but I will for sure tell friends and family about this place. Very relaxing and healing. Thank you guys for an amazing weekend.
Good food, nice atmosphere. This was a return trip for us. This time, I was disappointed to have been served a glass of wine with bits of cork floating in it. They offered me another after I brought this to their attention (which they initially tried to pass off as not unusual), but even the second glass had a little piece or two. Made me wonder if all they did was strain the first glass. Not classy at all.
Great family dining with a reasonable kids and adult portion menu. Food was very tasty and the speciality libations were excellent.
Great place to stay for any occasion! Great staff, one of a kind location, one of a kind accommodations, and lots of rustic Adirondack vibes. I also work here. Come say Hi Matt!????????

Well, what can I say? You have to be here to experience this place.
The rates were inflated for the time that we were there, (ironman) but the experience, room cleanliness, staff service and cooperation were state-of-the-art. The restaurant food was the best meal I think I have ever had in the evening. I can see why they have the awards that they do. Needs a little maintenance around the building but the majority of the presentation is phenomenal. Highly recommend.

Our family’s stay at Mirror Lake Inn was magnificent. I highly recommend staying in a cottage by the boat launch right on the water. Instant swimming, kayaking, and boating to Mirror Lake. But be forewarned, the prices are outrageous. They doubled our price during The Iron Man competition. Additionally, I do not recommend eating at their “The View” restaurant because that too is overpriced. Buyer’s beware because even the experience is superb, you may feel buyer’s remorse.
Well didn’t get to stay. Wanted to go for leaf peeping /shopping/spa weekend but only available times for facial in middle of the day. Only available 9-1 that’s it. Not because they were booked but that’s what we had to choose from. Wanted to leaf peep /shop during the day and come back for spa before dinner. Oh well. For a place known for its spa not very accommodating.
Great room views very inviting, and great prices on bar drinks
Beautiful view of Lake Placid. Very good service
Really beautiful place. Charming inn and spa. Everything was well done and worth every penny.
Horrible hotel with horrible staff and service. Looks very old, dirty and it’s too expensive for how bad it looks. There are bed bugs and they don’t clean it.
The inn is stunningly gorgeous. We went there to view it as a possible wedding venue. Unfortunately, the wedding can only have 20 people at max and is unrealistic even for a small wedding. We would have loved it if we could have had a wedding there.
Excellent, Professional staff and the room and grounds were nicely maintained. The View resturaunt was a 4 star experience. I would highly recommend the Mirror Lake Inn.
Its people like you that make these people rich. Crazy
It was really beautiful . And its good choice to visit.
The room was just beautiful and the staff, especially at the beach, was great. You cannot beat the location. It is an easy walk into town or around the lake. The view of the lake from our room was gorgeous. We used the outdoor pool and the kayaks. I highly recommend staying here. I am taking off one star for the service at the front desk. It is painfully slow. It must have taken over half an hour to check in. The cookies at check in though were a nice touch.
We needed an ADA room. The room exceded our needs. The staff were very helpful. Everything was great for our first vacation in 19 months.
We had a group of 12 people stay at the Mirror Lake Inn for our wedding. The experience couldn't have been any better, from the moment we contacted Stephanie (our sales rep) to checking in, checking out, and everything in between. We had reserved the Wickoff porch for a private celebration dinner and brunch for the morning after. The food and the service were both phenomenal. The views of the MacIntyre range from our rooms were spectacular, as well as the beautiful Mirror Lake. We will be back whenever we get the chance to!
Elegant and historic Inn with large windows, fireplaces with real crackling fires, rooms and areas with unique items..such as a harp, throne, an old library. A quiet peaceful place.
Service was excellent! Food prepared perfectly ????
A beautiful lodge feel with large windows offering views of the Adirondack mountains and mirror lake. The food is definitely 5 star. Amazed by a salad that had flavors I've never experienced together, grapes, feta cheese, honeycomb and more. The filet mignon was very tender and tasty. I had the apple cobbler for desert with ginger ice-cream. Surprised by the subtle ginger flavor in the ice cream and its compliment to the apples and other berries. Delicious!
Amazing service, care, and cleanliness. While on the pricey side, the money is well spent here. The hotel spoils you with beautiful views, amazing sounds, and all the comforts needed for a weekend getaway.
My husband and I planned an early anniversary weekend get away to hike the peaks in the adirondacks and stayed two nights at Mirror Lake Inn. We were very impressed by the fine details! When we first arrived we found our room upgraded to a better view on the fourth floor and champagne and chocolates to greet us in the room! Our dinner reservations were accommodated with a personalized greeting congratulating us on our anniversary. Our waiter Caleb was wonderful! The hot tub was nice and clean. We loved our view of the lake and enjoyed the ambience of the entire place.
The food was amazing, had the steak was perfect. The staff took the time to personalize the menu with a birthday message for me. The dessert was equally delicious
Great hotel. Very cozy inside.
I would say our stay was good. The rooms aren’t really sound proof (probably because it’s an older historic facility). We heard the people next door walking up and down their stairs. I’m assuming they could hear us as well. We also heard a lot of people walking by our door. The floor we were on was very busy and we constantly came across people in the hall way. At one point on one of the days there was construction on the floor. I almost got ran over, not once, but twice by two of the construction workers. I’m not one to complain so I didn’t say anything. I’m not sure it was worth the price for us but the tub was very nice and big and it was convenient to be able to walk right to the stores. We had a couples massage and that was amazing.
Really well taken care of. The staff was too notch and attentive to everything and very friendly. The rooms, common areas and grounds are well maintained and beautiful. I really enjoyed the adirondack chairs around the fire pits. Joe
Great place, service, food and accomodations were fantastic for a quick getaway.
Besides the glorious accommodations and truly delicious food in The View Restaurant, the staff went above and beyond to make our short stay memorable. The not only exceeded my expectations, they redefined them! I could not give them a stronger referral! Lake Placid is a true diamond, and the Mirror Lake Inn is the sparkle in the diamond!
O.k. there is covid-19, but they could do better with the service in room
Mirror Lake Inn is a great getaway.

Really beautiful rooms with gorgeous views, a very rustic cozy vibe!
It was great!!!
Staff was rude and tried to rip me off
I was walking through the lobby to the view restaurant one lovely winter night and a Hispanic concierge was very rude talking about masking. She made my date and I uncomfortable and was extremely arrogant and obnoxious.
In case you do not read the following... Please do not waste your money coming here, it is the worst hotel of all that I have had the misfortune to know in lake placid! Do not go! Please! My husband rented a room for the weekend; all started from the moment we arrived, we asked for help with our bags and after waiting more than 20 minutes outside with all the cold, the bellboy never showed up. My husband and I had to carry all the bags on our own. I understand that room service is not allowed due to covid, but when I asked the front desk for some plates and glasses, they were dirty. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE FOR A 4 DIAMOND HOTEL TO DELIVER DIRTY GLASSES AND DISHES !!!! ???! THAT DESTROYED OUR DINNER. Not to mention waiting more than 20 minutes for those plates and glasses. The service staff and bellmen were very rude, unhelpful they passed me by and did not offer any help. The spa staff was very gentle and helpful. WHAT A GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT MIRROR LAKE INN. On our last visit, we were received very well, the bellman was already waiting for us, the room with music and a quiet atmosphere. a month later it doesn't compare to what it was. we assume that it is that they do not have sufficient personnel or if personnel are not qualified. GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT.

It was awesome.
I recently stayed at the Mirror Lake Inn for me best friend's engagement weekend/birthday party and our group had a suite. The staff was lovely with all of our calls to the front desk and we had the most magical weekend. Skating right on the frozen lake was beautiful (but bring your own skates). We were able to safely use the hot tub and pool and there was an employee gently enforcing covid regulations. I cannot wait to plan my next trip and would 10/10 recommend. The Mirror Lake Inn has the old world charm and you cannot compensate on the proximity to downtown Lake Placid.
I'm disappointed that I even have to give one star. The property itself is very dated and in desperate need of a complete overhaul. We arrived last week for our honeymoon and wanted to leave the second we arrived. The staff was rude. The rooms were dark, dated, dusty, and smelled musty. No "luxury" amenities - cheap bath products, a bottle of cheap champagne ($6.99 after looking it up), cheese and strawberries upon our arrival for our honeymoon - hardly justifying the $785/night "suite." The pictures online do not represent the rooms accurately at all. NO housekeeping due to Covid - we asked for a vacuum due to the salt on the roads and they left a non electric one outside our door which didn't work and refused to empty our trash. They would leave new towels in a trash bag in the hallway if requested. I have traveled locally during Covid and find it interesting that every other hotel increases their customer service when they have to reduce things like housekeeping. The general attitude of all of the employees was poor and seemed as if we were bothering them and they were annoyed. They probably get the same feedback regularly and are burned out. The only employees we encountered that was pleasant were Tess, the manager at the restaurant, and Mariah, our server. The two of them need to give the rest of the employees a lesson on customer service and how to treat guests. There were kind, gracious, pleasant and define the hospitality industry. The spa - FILTY. Not distributing sandals or robes due to Covid. If that were the case then I would expect the floors to be clean. They were dirty and covered in dirt and salt. The hot tub was COLD. Upon telling the front desk of the spa, and wiping a clean paper towel on the floor to show how dirty it was, they literally just gave me a blank stare and said sorry. We had a couples massage which my husband enjoyed, but mine was painful and I'm still sore and bruised days letter (I asked multiple times for less pressure). We also booked the salt room and half way into the session we noticed a CAMERA on the wall - I later asked the front desk and they said "oh yes, that's for your safety, the girl who brought you to the room should have told you" and when I said she didn't the attendant replied "oh it's because she's new." Spas come with an expectation of privacy. We felt totally unsettled once we realized this. Were there cameras in our massage room or other areas that we didn't see and we're notified of? The daily breakfast is not included and is limited to 4-5 options and arrived cold every day and the cost ranged from $40-60. Pathetic. Our breakfast at McDonald's was better quality on the day we left. We were so disappointed that we left early. The front desk manager was rude and he tried to tell us he was going to charge us for our full stay. He finally agreed not to charge us for the remaining nights after telling him about our experience. The Inn has so much potential and it's sad to see the state it is in. My husband stayed at Mirror Lake 20 years ago and loved it. We both think no updates have happened since that time. Sad. Extremely disappointing honeymoon.
Beautiful inn. Great experience.
Very nice place so far! Spa is great!
Very comfy and cozy! Staff are very friendly, and the Inn it self has a very Christmassy feel! Feel like I'm in a Christmas movie!
Well, of course, The Cottage would have a fabulous new way to enjoy a beverage and food in the beautiful outdoors: Gondolas were an unexpected surprise and a great experience!

We wanted to leave the minute we arrived. Rooms were completely outdated, smelled like mildew, bed felt like cardboard, "fireplace" is a propane fireplace that barely emits a flame. The view is onto a small densely populated pond. Not at all like any of the pictures online. 4.5 hour drive from NYC and nowhere to eat upon arrival. They did not tell us we needed to reserve ahead of time. The restaurant would not take us for the entirety of the stay. The other restaurant option is gross bar food and they make you wait 30 minutes for a table because they don't accept reservations. Even when paying $700+ a night for the worst suite we've ever stayed in. Restaurant wouldn't even make an omelette for breakfast. We moved to Lake Placid Lodge, night and day difference. Far superior hotel in every way.
Meh. Wasn’t worth the money. Staff seemed robotic and unfriendly. No mini bar and an appetizer had to be purchased w each individual drink at the bar. The room service breakfast menu had 4 items. “Concierge” information had to be pulled out the front desk staff. $1000 spent in an empty spa where the staff was clearly annoyed when my husband and I waited there, for each other or our next treatment to start. No robes provided and multiple unused waiting rooms, not available to sit. No house keeping services for “our safety” which seemed more likely for the hotel’s budget. Old squeaky beds and stairs in the high end priced room w 1970s wallpaper. Hotel lobby is relaxing, and food at the View restaurant was good. We enjoyed the cottage’s out door fire pit table. Lake placid is incredible, but for the price & lack of friendly service, we’ll stay at an air bnb next time. We are easy going, low maintenance and never write bad reviews. But there was just something missing at this hotel that we can’t even really describe. Bad vibes, and it wasn’t just Covid related.
Even during the pandemic, it is wonderful to stop by here and experience the delicious food by Lake Placid. We ordered the Warm Brussel Sprout salad, the Apricot Chicken Salad Sandwich and a hot chocolate with whipped cream. They were all very well prepared. The hot chocolate was in the sweet side for me, but it was perfect for everyone else in my company. The service was great, and definitely a place to go if you are in this area.

I only went to the restaurant. The chili was wonderful and the hot mulled alcoholic cider was to die for!!!!

Absolutely exquisite. Elegant, lovely, beautifully decorate. Countless activities, beautiful fireplaces & sitting areas, a truly luxurious establishment
The hotel was Amazing had a grate view of the lake when to the hockey rink and came back to a nice warm hot chocolate on the night stand room service was very nice.
A wonderful place to stay. Beautiful views, lovely staff and great food.
Fantastic Inn! Especially lovely around Christmas with the decorations & large fireplaces. Staff were all wonderful & went above & beyond. Room was clean (many precautions put in place during Covid). The view restaurant was wonderful- cocktails were unique & tasty, dinner was very good!
Awseome place.....so wonderful especially at the Christmas season. Everything looks so festive and beautiful here! We will be back with family
Had a great weekend at the Mirror Lake Inn! Unique Adirondack feel, clean room with cozy fireplace, unbelievable view of Mirror Lake with mountains in the distance, delicious food, and several Covid-19 safety protocols in place to make us feel safe. Strongly recommend to anyone looking to get away for a nice enjoyable relaxing weekend!
One of the best Spa and Resort hotels that I've ever been too. During this time of Covid they took many precautions and were very safe and kind. I hope to return again very soon.
Nice lake view. I want to congratulate the staff. When we arrived at the parking lot, a young man was waiting for us to help us with our luggage, he was very friendly and attentive. My daughter was doing an important college calculus homework and she couldn't find answers; she was very worried. As the young man helped us unload our luggage, he commented that she was using a wrong formula and had symbol errors. My daughter, a little surprised, approached him, showed him her notes and he was able to help her, he was very courteous and fast. My daughter got 10 and she is very happy, that is why I decided to take the time to congratulate Mirror Lake Inn, their staff is fantastic, they are fully prepared against covid, I will be back soon.
Beautiful facility. Not kid-friendly. Many signs and notices posted about childrens' appropriate behavior. The owners should just make it adults only to solve whatever issues they've had.

Expensive but very nice. Staff was always around and very helpful and courteous. Beautiful view of the lake

Very very prepared for covid. They did a great job at the restaurant and hotel to make it a safe place. Great food.
If you want some place to just got and relax, this is certainly the place to go. You don't feel bad when you spend a couple of hours just sitting in a comfortable chair in your room looking out over there lake. The pool and hot tub area is another great place to relax. They really know how to keep it clean there is not an overwhelming smell of chlorine like you get at many hotel pools. The decorations in the hallways were great. Don't miss the cookies. Obviously making restaurant reservations here is a bit challenging at this time (late October of 2020) with hotel guests only. Early in the week they were booked for Saturday night and we got the same response when we checked on Saturday morning. However just before noon on Saturday we got a call with an opening. We were a bit surprised that it wasn't just one time slot, but rather four or five. We were going to take one slot and call back if we couldn't make it (we were waiting to hear back from another restaurant). However we were told that if we made the reservation and cancelled, our room would get something like a $50 cancellation fee. Overall, we had a fantastic time at a really great place.
Great swimming pool when it is snowing outside. Very close to a few restaurants and to lake Placid.
Beautiful full moon on Mirror Lake, 10/31/20.
Great view from the 4th floor. We also really liked the large hot tub. The room was spacious and the sun porch was wonderful. The beds are worn out, though. They are very saggy. The decor could stand to be updated, especially as the cost of this room is $400 a night.
Great ambience even during Covid times. Excellent service, good food and drink options and beautiful setting even in the rain. Furniture and decor are very elegant, historic sense of place. Very comfortable beds and beautiful rooms overlooking lake and surrounding mountains.
Place is getting tired. Room we had was not COVID clean. Mold in bathroom, musty smell. The are still charging for internet for higher speed, come on it's 2020 that like charging for lights. Great place for a getaway. Close to everything. Pricey.
Nothing else even comes close.

Top notch boutique hotel. Elegant mountain rustic decor. Phenomenal view of the lake.
Really enjoyed our stay here. The mountain view rooms are great, they have an alcove w 2 chairs, facing the lake that are great to relax in and stare at the lake. The restaurant, The View, was amazing. We ate here 2x and had breakfast daily. Everything was superb. Get the onion soup! And for breakfast, the granola. It's a wow. The customer service was good here as well. This is in a great location, right off main street and you can walk there. Really love that you can have breakfast delivered as room service, it's nice to eat while staring at the lake in your PJs. A couple things that could use improving: -The beds: very hard and uncomfortable, they squeak as you roll around in the night. -The coffee: it was a bit weak and felt like it was decaf. You also need stirrers out there to mix the sugar. -Check in: Front desk needs to explain things a little more, like breakfast, it is not in person, just take out or room service. We showed up 1 day bc we didn't know this. -Water: for a resort, you really should be giving out a bottle of water daily. It would be nice -Hyatt status: none if my Explorist status benefits were honored, it would have been nice. -Waiters in restaurant: all great! But some had on face shields and not masks. Face shields alone do not work well, studies have proven. Please have them put on a mask. All being said, we would definitely stay here again. We do hope they will improve the beds.
Nice but very pricey. Cottage offers fantastic views of Mirror Lake.
I didn't hate it ..but all resturaunts stop breakfast at 10:30 am we slept in late & when we went to find a place to eat simply pancakes at on main street all places were closed due to covid -19 viress & one one was open but we already are there it is so hard to find places to eat up here at lake Plascid NY !

Great Location off Lake Placid. Cabin next to lake was awesome
Ummm, like, it's the Mirror Lake Inn. Has been awesome for a long time. Gorgeous views and wonderful staff as always. The Cottage could catch up to where the price tag currently is. Still awesome though.
Wonderful - best hotel We have ever stayed. Beautiful, ditto bar and restaurant.
*N.B. This review only applies to the spa.* The pedicure was excellent and very detailed. However, I have twice had my hair trimmed and colored, and I shall not be returning because of the thoroughly poor job that was done. In spite of numerous requests for layers and two in-depth discussions about my expectations, she either ignored them or was incapable of cutting hair except straight across. This experience reflects very poorly on the venerable institution as a whole.
Great dinner. 5/5 recommend Caleb

The mountain view
I don’t know how the service was before COVID, but I would not wish for anyone to spend even a minute at this resort. The experience starts with rude front desk personal if you are lucky that they are even there. The experience will further extend to no cleaning of the room during the entire stay. Lastly, even an hour later check out seems too bothersome for them, even on a regular Monday. The only nice person we met during the entire stay, was the bartender! The rooms are mediocre at best, the common areas are okay. The small little stretch of sand was the nicest part of this resort. When expressing any comments, we were simply met the same explanation that it’s because of COVID. It’s just remarkable how COVID has not effected several other resorts we have visited, who have managed to safely keep the level of service. Do your selves a service and avoid this resort during COVID pandemic.
Beautiful hotel.... Prime location....
This place looks great. We didn't stay but the location is awesome
Very nice place to stay.
Nice folks. Beautiful place.
This would be a nice place to stay for about $200 per night but it does not live up to the rates they charge. The best part about our room was the beautiful view but such views are easy to come by in Lake Placid and there are plenty of $200 per night hotels in the area offering similar views. Our room was very dated - I would guess it was last updated about 30 years ago. And, while I understand the temporary suspension of housekeeping, they could have made it easier to get new supplies, get rid of trash, etc. - there should have been more of a system for this. The hotel restaurant - The View - was booked for our entire stay (we were called one day and offered a table due to a cancellation but had already made other plans so could not accept). To me, the hotel restaurant should be available to guests - it's one of the amenities and one of the reasons we chose to stay there. The people were friendly and helpful and the location was good. So, it's not that it's a bad hotel - it's just that it's way overpriced. Spending some of their profit on improvements would go a long way toward making this an actual luxury hotel.
My husband and I are presently staying in one of the Colonial House Suites. For $700+ per night, we are quite disappointed with our experience at this establishment thus far. Our room is fine, clean and comfortable, and the lake front balcony offers a lovely view. The amenities, however, leave much to be desired. The private “beach” is tiny and crowded. The View Restaurant was fully booked for the entire week of our stay (8 parties reportedly ahead of us for all 6 nights). The room service menu is quite limited, and from our one experience ordering room service, the food is mediocre at best. The restaurants in Lake Placid seem overwhelmed by the number of visitors; many are closed. Understandably, COVID-19 has likely played a role in some of these issues. Restaurants have limited capacity (as they should to prevent infection spread!). That said, the fact that guests of the hotel are unable to dine in the hotel’s restaurant for an entire week, is quite disappointing. We chose this hotel because it was advertised to offer luxury accommodations. Unfortunately, in all, this is a significantly overpriced establishment and the experience is nothing special.
Very good place
My wife and I stayed here this past weekend and loved it. Grounds were awesome. So many beautiful flowering plants. Great location. Close to Main Street, but not too close. Beachfront was very nice. Enjoyed using their free kayaks. Room was very nice with a comfortable sitting area near a picture window with a view of the mountains. My wife's arthritis was acting up and had a tough night's sleep the first night. They were kind enough to add a firm mattress topper and she had a pleasant second night. Staff were great. Very comprehensive approach to Covid-19 precautions, which we really appreciated. Loved our stay so much, we've already booked another weekend in Jan to see what it's like during the winter.
My husband and I were looking for a relaxing getaway. We chose this hotel because of the spa as well as the location. The grounds are beautiful and very meticulously maintained. We stayed on the top floor of the colonial house. Unfortunately, the room we stayed in had an obstructed view of the lake, which was very disappointing for the amount of money we paid per night. The room description boasts incredible views of the lake and the Adirondack mountains. Both the bedding linens and robes had a foul smelling odor. Upon request the linens were changed, however the smell did not change on the bedding, perhaps the mattress was soiled? This was highly disappointing. The spa was very nice, however due to covid-19, none of the amenities were available, with no reduction in service price. We were unable to eat at the restaurants on the property because we were told at checking that The View was completely booked for the weekend. The breakfast menu was extremely limited, a breakfast sandwich, French toast and smoked salmon bagel. Not quite the fine dining we expected.
Very relaxing place. The little waterfalls and gardens, the outdoor pool and beach all felt very private but comfortable. The indoor pool is such a unique design and was appreciated after I got too much sun. The private beach offers free paddle boards etc to get out on the lake.
We are here staying at the Mirror Lake Inn in Lake Placid, NY, as usual this place is amazing. We checked in yesterday and will be here till Sunday. We are staying in the cottage house (room L2) to be exact, the way the room is presented online does it no justice. We have two full bathrooms, two full separate bedrooms (which is perfect space for just sitting back for adult time with some cold beverages), the space is well worth the money, along with the service and hospitality that you receive from the staff. A huge shoutout to Jessica down at the beach. She has the patients of a saint, kids asking for this boat, that kayak and her attitude was nothing but amazing, she is just another perfect example of why this place should be rated 10 stars and not 4.
My husband and I came to the Inn for our anniversary, and we were blown away by the hospitality, picturesque views, and our immaculate lakeside cottage room! The staff and management were so welcoming, and the food was delicious. We will be visiting each year from now on!
Great place with excellent location to everything nearby. The rooms were nothing extraordinary but very clean and nice. Price was about 200$ higher than other places comparable.

Great location and plenty of space
Great service. Accommodations are very nice. Beautiful grounds. Very clean.

This is the best hotel in the world! Amazing people, amazing food, amazing service and amazing view!
First time at the Mirror Lake Inn and even though it had just opened back up from Covid and we had to wear masks it was very nice. Had a wonderful massage, and Erica at the front desk was super sweet! Jamey Atchinson delivered items to our room and he was so awesome! Only complaint was the miserable one at the front desk who told me I wasn't allowed to be on my phone in the lobby! I feel like she shouldn't be at the front desk...
It has been almost 6 months since we stayed at the Mirror Lake Inn last October for three days. We had a room on the second floor overlooking Mirror Lake. It was a beautiful room and the view was spectacular! The hotel was so beautiful and the staff was very helpful. I can’t wait to go back to this beautiful place and stay again at this beautiful hotel. Also we did have dinner in the hotel and it was delicious and the server was excellent. This hotel is truly a gem??. Thank you for this beautiful experience, Kathy Riedel & Tom Fenton
Very pretty and fun to be at
Great Food!! Wonderful Atmosphere!!
Beautiful in the winter, i can imagine what the summer looks like!!
Great staff. Nice rooms
Zachary Adam (.
Everyone is very nice, the rooms are great, the food is amazing, it's a quick trip to get to attractions and restaurants, it's somewhat inexpensive for the quality of the service, and everything has been awesome. The pool was nice, the jacuzzi was blistering hot though, but it was still very relaxing, not to mention larger than in other hotels I've been to. It was one of the best experiences I have had on a trip, and I would recommend this to anyone who likes winter sports, as there can be a lack of variety in the summer. 9/10 would go again in a heartbeat.
We didn't stay here but later found this as an excellent choice to have dinner as we made our way through upstate New York last fall. We were graciously allowed to walk around and take pictures afterwards and what a beautiful place. But for the reason of my post regarding dinner; Doris started off with a glass of sauvignon blanc while I had a couple bottles of Fiddlehead IPAs. For dinner Doris ordered the pot roast with mashed potatoes while I enjoyed clams and pasta. For desert we shared a Raspberry Creme Brulee. Our bill came to $ 104 before tip. Our waiter was friendly and very attentive and was comped accordingly. The dinner complimented the wonderful view over the lake. Highly recommend.

This is really cool place, right on the water, beautiful inside out. Even if you are not staying here you should stop for a drink at the bar and grab an appetizer. Lobster Mac and cheese or lobster risotto balls. Their bar has really nice bourbon/ Whiskey selection, including pappy van winkle.
Loved, loved this hotel. First time staying there and I had a great time. Went to see the fall foliage and the hotel did not disappoint. I had a room on the second floor overlooking the lake and it was gorgeous. It was great that there was an indoor pool as well as an outdoor one. Will definitely come back
Majestic and magical...this is an amazing place with a kind, helpful, and appreciative staff. The place is just beautiful. We have stayed at other local places and always walked by and even ate at their restaurant “The Cottage”~ which is terrific by the way~ and always had the Inn on our places to stay and we are so glad that we chose to go during Christmas. The Inn was serene and decorated tastefully for Christmas...the pictures do it little justice; you have to experience it. We look forward to returning. Thanks to the owners and staff for a fantastic family vacation!
Excellent establishment, friendly service, very clean premises , magnificent view , the best choice for Lake Placid.
The dining and service here are world class. Will absolutely visit again.
Returned for our anniversary again. Every staff member made the weekend special. Especially our Taste Bistro waitress Autumn. She was over the top in hospitality and graciousness. We'll be back again!
Really nice. Very accommodating.

Great place beautiful views
This hotel is everything a classic Adirondack experience should be. There is nothing that is lacking. The entire staff seems dedicated to delighting you. For an introvert like me, it can be a little uncomfortable, but is always welcoming!
We reserved a block of rooms for our wedding and they were so accommodating and easy to work with. They gave our guests a generous discount and provided superb service.
Truly a 5 star establishment with great service, nice ambiance,
Truly an amazing place to stay..The View restaurant lived up to the reviews. The staff from top to bottom couldn't have been more gracious and accommodating. Do your self a favor and make it a special place to go
Superb in every respect. One of the few places left with impeccable service, perfect ambiance and well managed staff. Even if you don't stay at the Inn, I highly recommend having at least dinner: A decent wine list, foie gras, wide selection of main courses, a cheese plate to finish... Quite inexpensive considering the standard.

Excellent atmosphere and beautiful rooms.
Premier type of establishment Lodge hotel overlooking Lake Placid The Marvelous restaurant superb staff top shelf place by C2 but you get your money's worth
Amazing location, lovely people, spa is top notch, live music in restaurants only enhaces the flavors of aromatic dishes but room decor is dated.
While the resort was beautiful and our stay was alright I will say I am not happy about how the resort sneakily snuck a $7.00 charge for a 'recommended' house keeping fee onto my credit card. This was not spoken about at check in, at all. While I am happy to tip house services, I do so at my discretion. And while the amount is really not a lot, the principle of the matter is that guests should be informed of such charge taking place.
Very upscale with good food and service. Drink's were excellent and food was great. Beautiful views of Mirror Lake.
Incredible views and very cozy
Classic hotel, great service, beautiful rooms.
Honestly, I'm impressed with this hotel and it is cute winter/cottage lodge with great vibe. Beach is very nice and it's private only for guests which has everything. Hot sauna, pool, hot tub are amazing and very uniquely themed after mountaineer style. It has two restaurants and one bar. The main lobby area are huge with fireplace many seats around and some of it are by windows which has beautiful lake views!! It is exceptional as they said. My stay was 100% fun and total relaxation which I'm recovering from climbing Mount Marcy for 14 hour hikes... I felt amazing in morning when I check out.
Beautiful lodge / resort. Rooms are nicely furnished and super clean with sliders that let the fresh mountain air in if desired. Gorgeous flowers everywhere. Excellent views of Mirror Lake. Loved our stay.
Beautiful hotel and spa in a convenient location. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, an organization I chair holds an annual event at this location and Linda has always been a pleasure to work with to set this up. The food is excellent and the location cant be beat. Rooms are beautiful and well appointed. If you are going to be staying in Lake Placid you would be hard pressed to find a better location to stay.
Having worked at the MLI back in 1989 this resort exudes classic Adirondack elegance.
Just eating dinner at The Cottage. The "unique twist on pub fare" turns out attrious and yields $21 hotdogs (kid you not) and just weird food, especially for dinner. What a let down.
Had dinner at the Taste Bistro. Food and ambience are excellent, but service is slow.
Excellent place, excellent staff, was a pleasure to visit such a nice place.
Beautiful views. Comfortable bed and very clean.
Loved my 80-minute massage at the spa. Breakfast buffet with a view of the lake was spectacular.
Beautiful Spot Views Are Amazing And Food Is Excellent

I deliver there and its very nice.
Top notch lodging, service, and food. Would definitely recommend.
Amazing experience. Old school charm
Moderate place to stay
Top dollar, but top venue makes it worth coming.
Fantastic place to stay in but look out for deals, expensive as expected.
Excellent service, food and view for our anniversary! They made it extremely special.
Great place to stay on vacation
This place is gorgeous! We can't wait to visit again.

Beautiful grounds, good restaurants, very friendly and accommodating staff.
Everything was great! Stated for 3 nights with our 3 kids. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Everything was clean. Food from their restaurant was very good. We did room service , didnt actually go. We would visit again
Great time with my daughters
Delicious, expertly prepared food. Excellent, friendly, personal service. Drinks were created and mixed flawlessly. The decor is lovely. Ornate wood fixtures and comfortable, overstuffed furniture. Rather expensive, but unique offerings and relaxed atmosphere with stunning views overlooking the historic lake. An idyllic setting to celebrate our 44th Wedding Anniversary.
First time at the spa and it was amazing. The staff are wonderful and the overall experience is very tranquil.
Very nice place, friendly staff, definitely would stay here again
Quiet and beautiful. The pool and amenities are incredible!!
Elegant, cosy. Food is delicious. Very good service
Beautiful in any season! Great food and the best robs to be cozy and relaxing in your room!! Will be go back again!!
Step above the rest. Excellent accommodates. Friendly and efficient staff.
Wife and I so appreciate the music of Chris Wilson on the rare weekend he performs. A great talent for a great setting.
Wonderful place with wonderful staff!
Lovely. Refined rustic.
Great location, beautiful foyer for lounging, nice indoor pool for kids, and better than expected food in all restaurants.
I would rate this place one of the nicest accommodations I have ever stayed. I was sent here for work and had to stay for about three weeks, but it felt like home. My room felt like a cozy log cabin with a separate room with a fireplace and seating area and desk. The bathroom was enormous with a jacuzzi. The pool felt like a relaxing, trickling stream, but was large enough to swim laps. They have a nice sauna and hot tub. The workout room had everything you could need. It is a resort so I’m sure all of these things are standard. I just felt like a king. It’s close by Main Street which has anything you need. It’s close by trails and hiking. It’s definitely a contender if you plan a stay at Lake Placid. I feel like the prices are competitive with the other hotels. The service was spot on and they never missed a chance asking if we needed anything. I would definitely go back.
Staff are great, room was comfortable and the place is beautiful. Meal last night was not hot and told the waiter but nothing happened. Had breakfast this morning and sausages were cold and told the waiter and he replaced them so that worked out fine.
Great mother's day brunch
Great dinner here.
Amazing spa services
I passed by to visit as I really wanted to rent a room here at first, but I opted for another hotel. I find the rooms decor a bit old, but overall the hotel is gorgeous the restaurant serves a good variety of food. If you want to take your loved one to a romantic restaurant overlooking the lake it's the place to be.
Beautiful hotel. The food in “The view” is very tasty.
Got the money ?????!? The best in Lake Placid.
My wife and I were in lake placid for our honeymoon and were recommend to mirror lake inn for dinner. The food was delicious the service was great and the whole experience was superb. Katie was very professional and recommended great wines. They made even made a nice congratulations baked Alaska smore dessert for us. We had a special experience and are very grateful.
This place has everything you need to make you feel like royalty.
Great view from our room. Not a lot of parking. Don't do the fine dining, was a disappointment.
Enjoyed our stay.
Our location for a relaxing weekend. And was it relaxing. Our room was great nice small view of the lake. The room was clean. Breakfast is expensive for a buffet. Dinner was good. Slightly impressive but nothing really knocked my socks off. Service was excellent. The Inn itself was beautiful. Plenty of places to sit and relax, enjoy the double sided fireplace or even sit infront of the picture window looking out to the lake. Wish there was an actual book section instead of sporadic ones around. Pool was gorgeous but extremely cold. Hot tub was nice. Overall the inn was great. One bad con....parking. It is basically first come first serve. If you want to go anywhere make sure its in walking distance.
It's a place like no other - unique, feel like an old movie and unforgettable experience. It's very close to everything there is to see in the area, nice walk around the property, few interesting place to eat and while summer time is probably more interesting for most people - off-season offers great experience too.
Beautiful grounds, elegant charm, truly the real deal
Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Spa is world-class, kid friendly, excellent food, super clean and warm, and everyone who works there is extremely friendly. Matt the bartender and their live entertainer Phil is awesome. Highly recommended place to stay anytime ur up in Lake Placid...
Awesome atmosphere with good cocktails. A little limited beer selection but sufficient variety

Amazing place to stay at!
Very nice place, rooms are big, clean, staff clean, restaurant is good, lawns kept nice, parking is huge... Just a perfect place
Dinner Sunday night was fabulous, as was the staff then, but staff Monday AM was clueless. One sent us to the View for b'fast while the next turned us away as b'fast "ended" just minutes earlier. Later massages were 50/50. Mine was excellent from Katia. My wife's masseuse, Brittany, chatted throughout the entire massage about her life (so relaxing) & tried to sell her additional oils! As our treatments were staggered, I asked the desk hostess, Kelly, to notify my wife that I'd await her at the pool. Kelly forgot & staff came looking for me after my wife sat waiting for me in the lobby for 30 minutes. No apologies in any of these instances. The experiences sullied what were fond memories from past visits
So enjoyed the evening by the fire with friends - great wine and wonderful fried Lobster risotto appetizers. AAAA++++
Really nice meal on Mirror lake. Amazing Mac and cheese!
Visiting just for the spa, which was amazing. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!
Beautiful place to be enjoying with family, near all activities. Pool is phenomenal and big enough to have lots of fun. Hot water pool is beautiful. A clean, courteous, quite, relaxing place to be in. Loved it!!!!
Inconsistency in the service but overall good.
It's a promising place: good location, charmy, cozy, well decarated, good facilities and great view. The service is overall good with some inconsistency in our case. Not very accommodating at the restaurant ( not in general but when a lady called Tess was involved), not helping with luggage ( that was problematic in our case since we were women with kids), no so welcoming at the check-in.
Beautiful hotel & views. Excellent staff. Very good restaurants.
We just got back from a 4 night stay with our family. The lobby and common areas were very nice. The pool and hot tub were very nice and well maintained. Our room was just okay. Not what I expected from a luxury hotel. Needed some updating. There was moldly mildew on the grout in the tub. We had issues with the toilet and key cards. I feel like the rooms are over priced for what you get. The kids really enjoyed the cookies and hot chocolate in the lobby. It was a bit inconvenient to have to go to the lobby for coffee in the morning instead of having a pot in the room. I was a little turned off to this hotel because of all the "rules" posted everywhere. The no cell phone signs were excessive posted all around the place and the little note that was given at checkin about children and their behavior was maybe overkill. We travel often and stay in nice hotels all over the country. I have never visited another hotel that needed signage such as this. They also charge $17.50 gratuity for the maid service automatically. I would have much preferred to choose my own tip amount for the maid.
Thank you for the hospitality. Always a great stay !
Amazing. Friendly helpful staff. Beautiful property.
This place was a real treat. The staff did all they could to accommodate us. The old world wood work is very nice. There common sitting areas were really nice. Breakfast was great also. A couple of minor issues: one is I would have liked a microwave in the room. Secondly, and a little more important is that it was noisy at night. There was rattling and tapping noises, I think because of the old radiator and how old the building is, there's not a lot of soundproofing. Overall I would absolutely recommend.
I have only visited the cottage quite a few times. Foods always great
Lovely resort and atmosphere. Very Christmas season resort with really quaint town of Lake Placid
What a warm and inviting location. Highly recommended if you are visiting the Adirondacks.
This was my second time here and still absolutely amazing. Every detail is perfect! The employees are fantastic, got to meet the owners son who has been in the Olympics! Food is great. Ambiance is so cozy in the living room/lobby. Spa/massages were perfect. Recieved complimentary bottle of wine. Will be returning again in the future!
Beautiful inn with incredible views of Mirror Lake. Very festive decorations at Christmas time. Small indoor pool, hot tub, outdoor pool, spa services and fitness center available. Tea time is offered every day between 3:30 and 4:30 in the lobby with cookies. Restaurants that work in conjunction with the Inn include the Cottage, located just down the hill, and the View and Bistro are located within the Inn itself. Rates listed online we're misleading.

Enchanted holiday experience!
Been coming here for years, all seasons, all occasions, never disappointed. Best staff and amenities anywhere, not to mention the incredible beauty of the Adirondaks

Best Place Ever! They are so nice and it's so warm you feel like home there and can enjoy all activities and the lake!
Phenomenal service, the best food, festive winter ambiance, beautiful inn. Best location I've ever stayed in at Lake Placid. Owners don't cut corners. Deserving of its rating as one of the top hotels in America.
Good location, nice main building (a confusing maze to the other buildings), great views of the lake. But the service was terrible and the staff, although with a smile on their face, couldn't solve the problems. Just to point out some issues: they gave me a room which was already occupied by a guest and my room's toilet had a black stain that looked like dirt...
DO NOT GO TO THE MIRROR LAKE IN !! Total scam!! We made a reservation around 8:00pm on a Thursday night. We unfortunately realized on Friday morning that we would not be able to make it. So we called as soon as they opened to cancel our dinner reservation. The guy then proceeds to tell me there would be a $50. Per person cancellation fee ($200.00) I explained I was never told this when we made the reservation and that we literally had just made it a couple hours prior. He didn’t care and proceeded to charge my credit card $200. I am battling with my credit card company and this establishment has now lied to American Express telling them that we never cancelled and that we just didn’t show up. Total lie, total scumbag place. DO NOT GIVE YOUR BUSINESS TO THESE PEOPLE!!! So many better restaurants and places to stay in Lake Placid!! The other establishments in Lake Placid will not steal your money like the Mirror Lake Inn. Stay far away!!
All good and no bad. 5star service, accommodations, location. Feel like royalty

You cant get bettet than this place.
Very professional staff, relaxing environment and beyond accomodating.
Awesome, as always.
Beautiful rooms and views. Would definitely stay there again.
It was a nice stay.
We love the MLI and stay every year around our anniversary. They treat their guests like royalty and we highly recommend them. See you next year!
Great place to relax and get your head together
Great place to relax and unwind and soak in the beauty of upstate New York
Great place, amazing resort! The staff was too notch. The views are spectacular!
Excellent accommodations, great location and view. Rooms are large and the atmosphere is amazing. Overall an excellent choice.
Great service provided for a rehearsal dinner!! The staff were very pleasant and attended to everyone's needs. I would recommend to anyone having a wedding in the area to use this place!
You have spend a day or two here and judge for yourself. We've stayed here 6 times.
The rooms come with an incredible view and all of the staff are excellent and accommodating
My wife and I came here for our anniversary this past week. It was everything we hoped for: luxurious, relaxing, and quiet. We booked the Ultimate Night Out package. The spa was fantastic, the indoor pool was beautiful, and the dinner at the view was to die for.
Great town, great inn.
Awesome classic lake Inn
Very beautiful with breathtaking views of the lake and the town. Signs for reception office should be more obvious to new guests arriving at the hotel. I had to drive around a few tomes before I figured it out. Then the first sign I saw was to turn off your cell phone.

Love it! Views are beautiful, service is great!
I've twice held a work meeting here, with a small group, including an overnight stay. The rooms are wonderful - you get a fantastic view and ambiance. It'd be a great place to go back to as a little romantic getaway. They had nice little touches like a cracker & cheese plates in the rooms for VIPs. The lunch was delicious, especially the soup (pumpkin or sweet potato). The conference room was a good size for a group of about a dozen, with the fires going throughout the day. Even with all the rustic appearance it had everything we needed for presentations and connecting to laptops. When we had an issue connecting Drew was right on hand to help resolve right away. Great experience.
Great food and service.
Pretty place in a boring town
I was very happy with my stay at Mirror Lake Inn. The location was great. The lake side beach was terrific. The rooms were very nice. The staff was very good. The cookies at the desk were delicious. We were very happy.
I'm active duty and I spend quite a bit of time away from friends, and family. When I'm at my breaking point, and I need a solid weekend of relaxation, this is the place. Mirror Lake Inn may be a few bucks more than your average hotel or motel. However, it has quite a bit to offer. A gym, Spa, dry sauna, hot tub, indoor pool, outdoor pool, beach, kayacking, canoeing, and daily activities, you can't go wrong. I also like how noise, and cell phone use is restricted in the lobby and library. (Unless it's a dire emergency of course) It's nice not having to be on the phone, or over hear someone's conversation while trying to relax. I think you should seriously consider, or at least try it once and see what you think.
Very nice clean place like that a lot
Thank you Yvonne for answering all questions. Hope we get up
Amazing restaurant with amazing food. Got seated in a private patio which was very nice
View at Mirror Lake is a very special dining experience. The restaurant is beautiful inside, with spectacular views. We were a party of four and were looking forward to culinary delights and great conversation. We ordered drinks, I highly recommend asking for an aviation (not aviator) if you like beautiful purple fin drinks, otherwise the pomegranate martini was perfect. We asked for more time between the cocktails and ordering, and our waiters obliged, giving us plenty of time to enjoy our evening. The food could not have tasted better!!!! We had two chef specials in between courses. A spoon with a delicious mushroom with broth a pea sprout and truly the most delicious sorbet I have ever eaten between the first and second plates. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection! The single scallop appetizer and the crab cake were my favorite. I do not mind paying for an extraordinary meal. View is a five star restaurant for sure. However, portion size for the scallop and crab cake was very very small, and $19 for a single scallop, although prepared perfectly, is unreasonable. I highly recommend View for very special occasions, but expect to spend $200 for a couple.
I can only speak for the food in the bar (Taste) - and it's five stars all day long. The view should make it six. We've been here several times and haven't gone wrong yet.
Absolute gem of an Inn. Impeccable everything...especially the dining.
Friendly staff and clean rooms. ambiance and a private beach. Pretty cool place
Gorgeous hotel and spa
I would give it zero stars if I was allowed to. When we first arrived, we quickly noticed how out dated our room was. Our rug felt damp as well as the towels they gave us. The first restless night was due to the air conditioning not turning off, so it was constantly blowing cold air. We turned it off since all 5 of us were practically freezing. That quickly made it turn to a muggy/ moist feeling in the air that was also very uncomfortable to sleep in. The hostess (Lauren Rupert) failed to accommodate us in any way. We informed her about our uncomfortable room the previous day, and asked kindly if we would be able to get our money back for the third night. Instead of her being agreeable, she constantly argued with us and said there is no way that we would be able to be refunded. I guess the saying “The customer is always right” does not apply here, or at least with the manager lauren. We actually left a day early because of the rooms conditions. While we were packing our bags we kept getting phone calls on the landline, and finally answered to the housekeeping lady asking if we were still there (even though we were booked for another night). We asked the kind housekeeping lady why they were in such a rush to clean our room a day early, her response was that they already had sold the room and was cleaning it for someone else move in. This is a disgusting way to treat the customers who paid almost 2k for their 3 night minimum. Surprisingly there was some pros... The lake was beautiful and their other foreign employees were a fantastic help.
Spent our anniversary weekend here. Everything was incredible!
Mirror Lake Inn has very nice accommodations. Our room was spotless, spacious and well maintained. We were quite pleased with our room. The decor throughout the facility tastefully reflected Adirondack settings. The Inn has a comprehensive set of services available, to include dining, spa, gym and salons. Our room package included breakfast. We were impressed with both the choices and the meal. The breakfasts were superb, well prepared and presented by courteous, friendly, attentive staff. We also had a nice dinner at The Cottage. All the staff we met were friendly, helpful, courteous and professional. I am retired, but my former job required extensive overnight travel. The foregoing observations are made with 30 years experience from a wide variety of accommodations. We enjoyed our first stay at the Mirror Lake Inn and plan to return in the future.
Very pleasant experiance
Beautiful Inn with comfortable rooms with awesome views of the lake. Expensive but worth the money to treat yourself for the experience and services they provide. Old world charm with modern convienences.
Had absolute the most splendid weekend possible in Lake Placid, thanks to my stay at Mirror Lake Inn. From the historic charm to the delicious food and warm family ambiance, I couldn't have imagined a better escape from the city. The spa was absolutely delightful and truly felt like an oasis. The staff were top notch always helping and even offering scrumptious chocolate chip cookies throughout the day. Highly recommend booking a stay or two as this truly a gem!
Wonderful experience. Nice service and definitely perfect reason for a revisit.
Beautiful place for sure.
We lived it! It has amazing facilities. It was clean, indoor pool is really big and nice. It had its own private beach and paddle boats for guests to use.
Absolutely gorgeous! Fantastic staff and service.
Mirror Lake Inn goes above and beyond to meet your expectations. Always surprising the guest. Staff friendly and responsive to your needs. Experience the process you won't be disappointed. Just had a major event there and they didn't not disappoint. Mark
We went for a manicure and pedicure at the spa and it was great. Such nice people and excellent service. I would highly recommend.
I went to Mirror Lake Inn for the spa. It was amazing. Got a pedicure and a manicure. They did an amazing job and everyone was super friendly. As we entered the premises we were greeted by a warming atmosphere and smiling faces to direct us to the spa. We were offered complimentary drinks (the first one is free) and the mimosa was delicious. During the pedicure you are able to select from three scents for the body scrubs which was a nice touch. The tools they use are disposable as well for those germaphobes out there (loved that.) Additionally during the manicure they clean your rings for you, which was a nice bonus.
Went to the View restaurant for Mother's Day brunch. The food was delicious, the service was wonderful and the atmosphere was relaxing!
Beautiful room, great service awesome view
Best place for relaxation and pampering. Can't wait to go back and stay at the Lake Cottage. Thank You Sara Jean & Patricia for your suggestion to come visit. Totally decompressed!!!!
Everything was perfect!! Beautiful view from our room, friendly and courteous staff!

Great stay. The hotel is very well put together and has tasteful antique decor. All three of their restaurants are seem very nice. We only ate in the bistro/bar and we had a nice three course meal. The view from our room was excellent, with a perfect view of the mirror lake.
The only thing nice about the veiw.. and not the restaurant.. the staff has been rude, unhelpful..and I refuse to ever stay there again
Just amazing! the staff is professional and the views are breathtaking.
It is so beautiful here
Very nice hotel in a great position.
Always cozy, timeless interiors, vintage ski lodge feel with luxury accoms. This was my room view
Great Staff. Beautiful view.
Lovely place! It was perfect for a relaxing getaway! The view was beautiful!
This place is idyllic and picturesque, like out of a movie. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent. Great service and food.
The spa is amazing!
Amazing rooms, amazing staff, this place is magical.
Beautiful place for a venue!!
Wonderful staff very nice facility
We stayed at the Mirror Lake Inn for 3 nights. Overall great experience as the staff made us feel welcome. The room was large with a nice view of the lake and mountains. The restaurants on site were good with The View (more formal) and The Cottage (casual) being the best choices.
Great, great food there! Top-notch lodgings. Perfect staff. Clean as can be. Wonderful.
My brother got married here last weekend and it was first class all the way. The food was amazing the rooms were clean the views were awesome. The service was fantastic!
Fine start dining at it's best. Highly recommended for special occasions.
Excellent location to visit Lake Placid!
Great place to stay
The best Spa I've ever been to. Every detail of this was an amazing experience. You get your own locker, robe, sandals and the enjoyment of hot tubs, steam room, pool area, parlor and dry sauna. The staff were top notch, always replenishing the accommodations and extremely kind and helpful! Very much worth the money.
My girlfriend and I spent 2 nights at the Mirror Lake Inn during our trip to Lake Placid. We had a great time and I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for somewhere higher end to stay in town. The hotel is beautiful with an amazing lobby and well-manicured grounds. Definitely spend some time sitting by the fire in the Adirondack decorated seating areas. All of the rooms come with a view and try picking something out on a higher floor if you want a better view of the lake and mountains. There's a spa on-site for massages and other treatments. All year round you can swim in the indoor pool and take advantage of the other services that the hotel offers. In the summer you can go swimming in Mirror Lake right across the street from the hotel. They own the beach and there’s a small boat house with towels and a changeroom. Both breakfast and dinner options are available Right at the hotel. There are a few different restaurants that range in price point and cuisine depending on what you're looking for. There is parking available at the property although it can be pretty tight depending on what time you arrive. The wifi worked great and I had no trouble getting on the net during my stay, even at peak times. The small town of Lake Placid with all of its shops and restaurants are 5 minutes away on. There's no need to drive anywhere unless you want to head to one of the Olympic museums or other hiking trails. For the price, there are few other similar properties in the area. You're definitely going to want to visit the Mirror Lake Inn if you're looking for a comfortable and relaxing luxury getaway in Lake Placid and the Adirondack Mountains.
Pricey place but very nice. Our room had a great view of the lake. Frozen when we where here during the winter. I can imagine it being a great view all year long. We didn't use any of the restaurants but did use the spa for massages. Most expensive massage I have ever had by quite a few dollars. The massage was average but the spa and pool area are very nice. Great for a winter swim. The Lobbies were also very well decorated and staff was very friendly. Would recommend if you can stomach the prices.
Always a great time and place to stay
Awesome hotel Beautiful location Over the top friendly staff
One of the best places to stay in the Adirondacks. Very friendly staff, delicious food, cozy common areas, and amazing room views. Loved the fireplace and checkers board near the main lobby for a place to hang out!
Fantastic inn on the lake, staff is super friendly, rustic Adirondack decor ,the view restaurant has superior food ,some rooms have fireplaces and oversized jacuzzi tubs ,,a must stay at hotel ,,winter when it's snowing it's like a Hallmark experience
Beautiful Inn with the worst internet usage policy. If you have kids with multiple devices plan on frustration and using a lot of data. Given the price of a nightly stay, fighting to get on WiFi should not be a concern.
Went for New Years brunch. Wow! Awesome hotel and restaurant. Service was great. Request the sunroom for a nice table.
Didn't really visited the place just drove by it.
Lovely atmosphere, carrying staff; the food is pricey for the quality and taste, but the place, location and views are beautiful
A fantastic experience that will leave you wanting to come back straight away. excellent atmosphere a gem in the heart of London
Ronald Alexander Damian D.
Inconsistent spa quality. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. I had a deep tissue massage done by Sandy yesterday and there was nothing deep tissue about it. Very disappointed, especially since they charge a premium over the classic for it. That said, I have had good massages there in the past and their eucalyptus steam room is great!
Amazing spa, everyone is very accommodating and will go out of their way to make your visit the best possible!
Great views and amazing service.
Photos don't do it justice. This was one of the nicest hotels I've ever been to.
Beautiful room and atmosphere. Can't wait to go back
We have been to Lake Placid many times and have always wanted to stay here. For our honeymoon we decide to stay here and we could not have been more happy. Our room over looked the lake and had a great view of the high peaks. They had chocolates and a nice letter in our room before we got there. Everyone that worked there were helpful and always nice. The lobby and is gorgeous along with every other room at the hotel. the attention to detail in every aspect is evident. The price is high per night but you get what you pay for. Its an amazing place that we will defiantly stay at again.
Kind of pricey but the food was fantastic and the service was great.
We have dined Mirror Lake Inn several times and each time has been wonderful. The food is delicious and the staff is top notch. Call for reservations rather than use the website...the staff will work with you to get a table. Top notch all around.
Very nice would definitely recommend
Great scenic lake front veiws
My wife and I had a wonderful experience in the fun winter lodge vibe!
Easy to book spa, wonderful time for my wife.
Wonderfully relaxing. Staff was always friendly, and the hotel was quite quiet. Enjoyed the pool, sauna, and jacuzzi. Will be back!
Beautiful setting, helpful but not invasive, quality!
Stopped in for a couple drinks at the bar, very nice
5 star resort with great views
Beautiful. Feels like a well run B&B
Outstanding resort in every way
Total Adirondack Charm, amazing pool and spa. There is nothing better than breakfast on the porch. Great bar with views of Mirror Lake and the High Peaks, all the grounds are immaculate . The staff is always super happy because its so great just being there.
What a wonderful garden!
friend works here came to admire beautiful garden
Tops in lake placid
Mirror Lake Inn is really good the rooms are cool the pool and Lake have amazing activities that you can do and the fishing dog has a lot of fish around it. I love this pace!
Thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary dinner, fantastic food and great staff. The perfect evening!
Excellent service and food.
The room was beautiful and had a great view they had a lot of things to do. Beautiful indoor pool and access to the lake for guests only with paddle boats, conoes and more.
Debby Thayer P.
Food is excellent and there is a beautiful view of Mirror lake.
Spa massage was awesome
Simply magnificent! Beautiful, comfortable and everyone who works here treats you special!
The Mirror Lake Inn has been a staple in my household for many, many years. They continually improve their services and have a stellar staff. The pool and spa area is fantastic, there's a wonderful selection of free boats to rent for the lake, and plenty of quiet areas in the hotel to settle in with a book. Lake Placid wouldn't be the same without this hotel.
Amazing food and service
Beautiful hotel. Perfect location and wonderful staff.
Maria Alicia C.
Pricey but nice spa
Great stay everything was exclusive
We stopped in for a cocktail and listened to Ryan Grant playing guitar. What an enjoyable time. Very nice atmosphere.
Fantastic, friendly and personal service. Quick honeymoon getaway, it has been a wonderful couple days. Every amenity, including kayaks and SUPs.
Lovely location, beautiful rooms. Feels like a step to another time (in a good way).
Lovely spot, great restaurants and fantastic location!
Great historic property, nicely located with River view. Rooms are spacious and are a good mix of historic with some modern amenities. Staff is very courteous.
Went to the spa and had a massage. The therapist was fantastic, as was the facility. The only issue we had was a young woman talking loudly on her cell phone for at least ten minutes while walking around the locker room. It killed the relaxation vibe.
Amazing facility with wonderful staff and service. A must stay if headed to Lake Placid.
Great staff, great rooms, and amazing atmosphere. Restaurant was amazing and attentive.
Very nice atmosphere.
Incredible hotel with awesome dining. They really take steps to make your experience a wonderful one. Certainly comes at a price but beyond worth it. Be sure to do the overlook dining experience on the lake.
Good food and amenities.
Beautiful property. Well-worth a visit.
Grew up going here every winter. Beautiful boutique hotel and amazing service.
Our room was right on the lake with a beautiful view, the power went out but the staff was extremely professional and helped all the guests providing flashlights and apologizing. They relied on back up power keeping the restaurant in the hotel open with all staff on Deck it was extremely professional everybody was extremely friendly and was a great experience.
All rooms have mountains and lake view! Everything is to quality: room, food, pool. Stuff are polite and helpful. We definitely return to this place, it was a great pick. The views are spectacular. Skiing areas are very close, driving distance.
A beautiful place with great views, for summer & winter!
Such a beautiful spot just on the outskirts of Lake Placids tiny town..the staff were a delight and when we told them we were there to celebrate an event they sent a bottle of wine to our room! Will definitely be back!
Love tea time
Its simply perfect.
My husband and I love staying at Mirror Lake Inn and usually go in the fall to see the leaves changing. However, this year we went for our anniversary on 1/26/17 and stayed for a long weekend. We absolutely love staying in this beautiful place!! The rooms are beautiful and you can't go wrong!! We went dogsledding and went for a snow shoe hike as well. We can't wait to go back!!
The staff has been excellent and the quality of everything has been top notch.
The Mirror Lake Inn has a really enjoyable spa experience - especially since they newly renovated the spa experience (at least for the women!). My masseuse was professional and worked out all of the kinks, which was much needed after a few days of skiing. I didn't have time to use the pool/hot tub but would love to next time....
our stay this year was just as good as last year. This year we didn't get a suite but a room with a better view and we believe it was the right move. I will say the fireplace was missed as was the sauna. The personal that work here are "exceptional". From the time you arrive till you checkout they are all very friendly and helpful. Every employee you ran into greeted you with a smile and good morning/afternoon or evening. The Inn was again this year decorated in the great taste and reminding you you it is a great time of the year. Put this on your to do list and you will see how nice the Inn is. I will admit you will spend more money than if you stayed someplace else. We are hoping to return again next Christmas.
We have been coming here for 20 years and it is still one of the best places for a romantic meal. Christmas 2016 and our meal was supurb! Thanks to Ben our server who was cheerful and attentive throughout the whole service. Ordered the prime rib and ham dinners-did not disappoint. The hotel looked lovely decorated for the holidays!
Have been coming here for years. Beautiful decor, first rate service, and good food and drinks
My girlfriend surprised me with a getaway to the Mirror Lake Inn Resort and Spa and I had the most amazing time. The room was lovely, we had a gorgeous view of Lake Placid. We built a snowman using the complementary snowman kit provided by the Front Desk and used the jacuzzi after a day of playing in the snow. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a luxurious getaway to a snowy scene.
Wonderful service at this inn!
Beautiful venue, delicious food, incredible view.
Views are great and staff is very friendly. Will definitely come back. Not sure if we will use the spa again though. Dinner at the view was also great, and would dine there again!
Ate at the view. Food was outstanding. You get what you pay for. Service great. Piano man was on point.
This place is fantastic!! Everything from their polite and kind staff to their wonderful accommodations. Every member of the staff went out of their way to say 'hello', and our housekeeper, Linda, was tremendous. There's nothing like going out to the dock in the morning and admiring Mirror Lake. What makes it even better is that, for free when staying here, you can take canoes, kayaks, paddle boards, and pedal boats out on the lake! This was amazing and so much fun. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was unbelievable, and cannot be forgotten. The aroma of pine filling the lobby and halls, and the rustic, woodsy theme of the many living room areas in the lobby. Mirror Lake Inn is a one-of-a-kind hotel, and I strongly insist that you make your vacation there. It's hard to beat!
This is a review for the salon at the Mirror Lake Inn. My wife went in for a deluxe pedicure that I got her for her birthday. Walking through the lobby to the salon, we were impressed with the decor, it looked fancy without being stuffy. Checking in to her appointment was easy, and the staff were very welcoming. I was allowed to sit next to my wife as she was worked on, since it was quiet that day. My wife says that it was the best pedicure she's ever had, and her feet never felt so pampered before. I would definitely recommend this service if you need a gift for a loved one (or for yourself).
Great food and service
Bar was fully stocked. Find a nice little porch to sit on and enjoy our our drinks before hitting the town for dinner.
They inflated the price from $808 plus tax to $914 without an explanation. I find this disingenuous. Joe Libertson
We went to the restaurant Taste Bistro in the lobby and it was absolutely incredible. First of all, they have two bottles of oil and vinegar from Saratoga Oil Company on the table that they serve with crusty bread. I could have walked out of there happy with just that! After dinner we walked to Saratoga Oil Co down the street and bought a couple bottles for ourselves. Second, the view of the lake while we ate was so serene. How do you beat views of Mirror Lake and the Adirondacks while you eat? You don't. Thirdly, the food was incredible! Get the pot roast. Trust me. So good! I ended up asking for an additional basket of bread because I couldn't let the au jus go to waste after I finishing everything else. It was THAT delicious. Definitely eat here, it's beautiful and the food is delicious! If I go back to Lake Placid I would certainly consider staying here just for Taste Bistro.
Went to The Cottage. Menu has changed and it feels more hotely than homey now. Also, the service was slow this time.
It's an expensive hotel, but the best place to stay in Lake Placid. It's fairly impeccably maintained, with decor stately or charming, depending on the room. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but my favorite places in the Inn are outside the hotel room. There are many amenities and I particularly enjoy the pools, the living room, the porches, and the library. It's not a connected, business hotel (there is wifi and you can pay to send a fax), but that's really OK by me. You go here to get away and relax. Most hotels don't have a place to read, brood, or take in the view like you can at the Inn. What distinguishes this resort from any nicely-appointed hotel is the quality of service and welcome you get from the staff, who say hello in passing and remain unfailing polite and attentive.

Very nice pool good Costner serves hood restaurants nice place to stay
Beautiful inn, great pool, sauna and hot tub. Our room was amazing, beautiful view of the high peaks and very clean. Lovely staff. Would definitely come back.
This is my second year in a row staying at the Mirror Lake Inn and unfortunately will be my last. The place is nicely decorated and close to everything which is a plus. In my opinion, the breakfast was a bit expensive...there are many other places in town for breakfast that are cheaper. Parking is a bit of a pain in the neck...2X on my first stay I could not find a spot in my assigned lot....luckily, there were other spots nearby....keep in mind I went in a very busy time of year. The desk service was ok... I also found the maid service about average compared to other places I vacationed. The nicely appointed lobby rooms were cold....it was freezing outside during my stay, so that could have contributed to the coldness inside...cookies were delicious. I can tell you this...whatever you do be aware of the shuttle bus service. Twice it was off schedule... My wife and I were waiting almost 30 minutes in the bitter cold outside the Mirror Lake Inn, sub freezing temperatures, by the curb where the bus stops. During my stay, I asked the desk to call a cab and was quoted 20/dollars...when the cab dropped us at the mountain, the price changed to 25/dollars...On 2 trips the shuttle felt like it had no heat..a young woman, with a young child and my wife and I were on the bus...we were subjected to freezing temperatures on the shuttle. I did email management. After I told them I would not return to this hotel, they offered me 150/dollars credit towards my next stay...nice of them, but that was after I told them I will not be staying here anymore and opted out of the offer. Additionally, they did credit my account 5/dollars for the car service mishap....i found that to be a nice gesture. The management team did mention it was not their responsibility of the lateness of the shuttle bus service and would share my complaint with the team who manages the shuttle. In my opinion, this place is not cheap by all means...I would expect a better overall experience. The location was very good, close to shopping, the lake and dining and the view from some of the rooms was very nice...this year, my room had a partially blocked view of the lake which was very disappointing to me compared to last year.
Great place......Just make sure your Wallet is plenty FAT.
Lovely hotel. Had a great birthday weekend.
This review is about the Cottage at Mirror Lake Inn. While the food is always average, the service is generally bad. From the hostess who cannot see beyond the front group waiting for an outside table while a line of customers would be satisfied with one of the many free tables inside, to the clean up of dirty tables that is done by the same hostess instead of the waiting staff, to the slow moves of the wait staff, to the chronically undersized kitchen staff generating long wait time, the only quality is its view of Mirror Lake framed by the beautiful mountains. Yes you can improve if you decide to manage the Cottage.
Really nice resort, very quaint and unique - old world in many ways. Was here during winter for a management offsite. Got caught in a snow-storm. But the hotels really warm and cosy. Great stay...
Great staff, helpful and friendly, clean spacious rooms, excellent location, wonderful lounges and terraces, fantastic breakfast. We didn't try the dinner but there is a small lakeside cafe across the street which was also 5 star.
My daughter, three young children and I stayed at the Mirror Lake Inn during the last few days in August. We have been returning guests for the past several years. We stayed in the new "Lookout" rooms that were perfect for our family. I am always impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the comfort of the rooms, especially the beds. My favorite time is going to the beach with the kids ( swimming, kayaking and having lunch from the Cottage). As my daughter got the kids settled, I would go to the Bistro to pick up dinner. Having a glass of wine at the bar was a nice end to the evening.

We stayed here last year. Posted an honest 3-star review of the establishment on Trip Advisor only to receive a condescending, arrogant and unapologetic response from the general manager. Any negative review gets an equally negative response along with details of "we know who you are". Instead of offering to make it right and try to make an offer for a future visit - they just slam the guest for being honest. The place has it's Adirondack charm, but that's pretty much where it ends. FU Carl Gronlund.
If you want an experience to remember then you must stay at The Mirror Lake Inn. Just know this, it will make you come back again and again. You just won't find any place else that cares more about making sure their guests feel completely welcome and appreciated. Every staff member is cheerful and 100 percent on the ball to make sure you have everything you need. If there was one aspect that one dislikes about their stay at The Mirror Lake Inn, it is the day you have to leave. I highly recommend you book a suite, eat at The View, enjoy happy hour at the Lake Cottage or Taste Bistro, and relax in the Spa.
SPA REVIEW: I went to the spa and had a waxing service. Britney was my technician. She was friendly and very professional. The facilities were clean. The ambiance was very relaxing. I was not expecting all the perks that came with the service. With your scheduled service you get a locker with a key, a robe and slippers to wear. You have access to showers, vanity tables, 2 saunas, and a jacuzzi. You have access to the facility for the whole day. The services room that I was in was very clean, and relaxing. And Britney was courteous & confident in what she was doing. She made sure to make me feel as comfortable as possible. I will definitely go back for services.
The Mirror Lake Inn does everything well. The place is a historical ongoing story of improvement of all services offered. I have been going there for 20 plus years. Classic Lake Placid.
All around great and very classy.
I visit the Spa, salon and restaurants regularly. Everyone is always personable and helpful.
