In the future when YOU cancel an appointment 3 hours before it was scheduled and we were about to get in the car to use your facilities a little more than a sorry is proper guest service. I get things happen, but even a gesture of come and enjoy our facilities or a special offer on next booking. We planned a day and now will be cancelling dinner reservations etc. A form Email telling us to book with you again is the bare minimum a hospitality business can do and not very enticing to do so

This place stole my fathers money and did not let my parents have their appointment. They also made the appointment for one person instead of 2 people. When my mother arrived they were not allowed to go into their appointment.

THEY CHARGE ME TWICH. like more reviews said. on top of everything they made the charge on a different name not on Mandara spa and the email on the C.C website not even lid to this spa. My husband and friend went for a massage for his Birthday. And we are so disappointed and not happy with this place. For the price we got charged... we should get a really good service and a perfect massage. To lay on bed and get oil pour all over you back and leg you don't need to pay so much. Actually you don't need to pay at all you can do it at home. I will not come back and will not recommend to anyone to go. This place should be shame to call them self a spa.

I had a massage scheduled. The day before (not even 24 hours), I received a phone call that there was a technician problem and my massage needed to be cancelled. They could get me a facial. I took this thinking it was same time as the massage. Right before call ended, I was told 11:15. I arrived at spa at 10:55. I told the person working that I felt it was inappropriate to not get as much notice as they would require from me. The manager came out and was extremely unprofessional. Instead of being sorry for treating me like I was not an important client, she questioned me like I was being dishonest. I had to repeat myself many times due to her being unable to understand. She also asked me many times if I wanted to cancel. She then told me my appointment was 11:30 and I needed to leave and come back at 11:25. After evaluating her inability to be customer centric, I cancelled. This poor review is not for any of the Estheticians and massage therapists, only the very unprofessional manager.

So the owner wrote me back.... this is an update now... NO ONE TOLD ME ABOUT THE gratuity percentage the spa therapist gets AT ALL. no one on the phone told me anything of the sort so I don't know why the owner responded to my other google review just assuming her girls did the right thing they did not. If it was in the email they should make things more clear. Also the therapist shouldve told me options and prices. NONE OF WHICH WERE GIVEN TO ME. THIS PLACE and the OWNER are all scams. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!! Karma will come back to them im sure it has already with other unsatisfied customers.. but I can definitely see that place closing soon if they aren't already in the works to. HONESTY GOES A LONG WAY AND THE OWNER HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO FIX THIS AND THEY DIDNT THEY JUST POURED OUT MORE LIES. I AM MOST DEFINITELY TAKING THIS MATTER ELSEWHERE.(and not with them because they won't even work with you.)

I was totally shocked afterwards when I booked it I was initially asking for a massage then they told me they only had time for a facial and so I booked time for that they didn’t give me options or prices they kinda just took me in my first time ever getting a facial or anything like that and did what they did and priced me $246.38 that included a tip they made up themselves of $37 I couldn’t even choose a tip and I felt completely stolen from. Not to mention the woman was so Not professional and the girls at the front had me stand outside for 30 min bc you can only arrive 5 min prior I found out that same day it was just a total waste of money and a scam and if I have any trouble getting money back like the last woman I saw here on Google had I might sue the place honestly. Truly ruined my whole trip here.

They stole money from me I contacted better business Bureau the Steiner company and next step is small claims don’t go here bad policies which they never tell you about Update: They refused to refund me, and after viewing all of these negative reviews I'm not surprised I had an issue with them, as I see others have had similar experiences. I saved copies of these reviews. I recommend you read reviews before patronizing any business which is what I wish I did. If I could give a negative star, I would.

Booked two months in advance for my friend’s bachelorette. As we all checked in for our appointments, I was sent to a totally different spa located on the lower level at a different hotel. Keep in mind, these appointments were booked TOGETHER. There was zero communication in regards to the last minute change. The man that had stated that I would be going downstairs away from the bachelorette party was totally not understanding and brushed it off like it happens all the time! Not to mention, he told me that I better leave now to make my appointment because it was a hike. For a premium price/service, this is absolutely not what I was expecting. I definitely do not recommend.

Horrible experience....booked 4 - 50 min. massages weeks in advance. Called the day prior to confirm. After we showed up and filled in our questionnaires and were waiting for our massage a manager came out to tell my friend that her massage therapist was not available. The only compensation offered was 15% off her visit another day. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! We drove 1.5 hours specifically to have the 4 of us have massages. What type of upscale salon does that??? Will NOT be returning and will tell everyone to AVOID this place!!! UPDATE: They also lie!! After contacting me about our negative experience they assure me they would be in touch with the party who didn’t receive their service. I forwarded that information to my friend and she contacted them and to date they have NOT contacted her! Do NOT use their services. Beyond unprofessional!!!

Very disappointed customer. I made four massage appointments 2 weeks in advance.Drove an hour and a half stayed the night so I could enjoy a massage in the morning. My 3 friends and I checked in filled out a questionnaire card and 1 by 1 started to get called in. When my name is called the woman approached me and told me I would not be getting with my massage because my massage therapist called out sick . WHAT??? Just like that... No backup staff, no other compensation, offer me 15% on my next visit. I can guarantee you there will not be a next visit. I don't care if the staff had to call out because of covid restrictions and protocols there should be a backup plan . Telling the patron last minute ....SO UNPROFESSIONAL.

I am handicapped and they said that the spa could not accommodate me that it was to narrow and the scooter made to much noise backing up...I asked to speak to the manager and she was to busy to talk...I WILL NEVER RECCOMEND THIS SPA...EVER....

Had a terrible massage here. The therapist was very nice, but she talked the entire session (not very relaxing), and I asked her to ignore my legs and focus on my neck. She did the opposite. When I complained to management and asked for a real massage (since my neck was so sore), they had the receptionist tell me no one was available (manager refused to see me). They refunded me the mandatory 15% tip and that was all. I've gotten better massages in a nail parlor. Don't waste your time or money here.

I went for the fire and ice massage with the paraffin treatment. Hands down, one of the best massages I have ever had. My hands and feet feel wonderful from the paraffin. My masseuse Jennifer was amazing. I mentioned my shoulder had been bothering me from never healing properly and she gave it extra attention. My shoulder felt a lot better, I felt relaxed, and refreshed! Thank you for the wonderful treatment!

Lets start with this. I have frequented this resort for almost 20 years. and have visited the Mandara Spa over 100 times at multiple locations over many continents. This is my first time lodging a complaint. Which i will be sharing with to the executive staff at the resort. The treatment was horrible. simple as that. they had forgotten what was preordered and simply rushed through the service. I stopped by the desk to share my concern and was offered a 15% discount. I explained the service is actaully free for me. I never even have to pay for the services. But i do not wish to be billed for it. As services were never rendered as ordered. My concern was not taken seriously and dismissed. Poor mangament. Joann, if you are reading this. I am very disappointed in the way your staff handled this grievence.

What a great experience!! I had my massage with Julia. It was just the right amount of pressure. The facility is beautiful. The music played was very soothing. I enjoyed stepping into the dry sauna right after my massage. I left completely relaxed and ready to tackle my day. Thank you. My only complaint- it is not easy to find your location.

I had a massage, mani/pedi and everyone was great. Joelle for the message mad me feel completely at peace and relaxed. Courtney did my mani/pedi and not only did a wonderful job pampering me but had great conversation. The steam room/sauna/whirlpool are awesome amenities to use before or after your treatments.

Just booked a couples massage with the Connecticut location. Tried to go to the website to see what services were offered and it was definitely a bit of a run around still didn’t get to the actual page. People on the phone are pretty helpful booking. As a massage therapist myself I will definitely say the 20% Gratuity that they tack on prior to your service is definitely unprofessional and ridiculous. Also as a massage therapist I would like to say gratuity is definitely encouraged and something that is great to receive at the end of a wonderful experience. Also Tips is an acronym a gratuity is based on your service which should not be paid for prior makes no sense. Hoping it’s worth The experience as I would a book tomorrow services if I could’ve gotten to the page.

Went there yesterday to have a service done only to have it done in half a$$ed manner. When a customer pays over $100 for something you would expect it to be complete. When my wife woke up this morning she noticed huge areas on her legs that weren’t even waxed. Stay far away from this salon. Update. After speaking to Donna the operations manager we were able to come to a mutually agreeable solution.

Have gone a few times and really enjoy the experience . Zack is incredible ! Takes his time and very attentive ! Rooms can sometimes be a bit warm but Zack has a portable fan which made the world of difference !!! Spa is great but Steam room remains closed for the past few months ! Hoping they get it all opened soon but lucky they have the sauna opened !

Not overly impressed with sports pedicure-- okay but nothing to write home about Will visit spa again on next trip to casino when all facilities are functional.

I got my nails done there in december and i’m going back there and getting them done this sunday and i realized i never wrote them a review!! the woman that did my acrylics was so kind and funny!! she shaped my nails perfectly which is a deal for me because every other time i got coffin nails they weren’t shaped how i wanted, something would be off but these were amazing ??

The spa staff were kind but my therapist was not professional quality with hot stone application or massage technique. The hot stones were cold! I was told they needed longer to heat up but I was confused as to why they didn’t heat them up before my treatment since it was scheduled as a Fire and Ice massage. The therapist said he didn’t heat it up sooner because he didn’t want to burn me. I questioned if the water bath for the stones didn’t have a set point and he said if ...it was left on it would overheat. I don’t see how they could be offering cold stones to people for safety. No one enjoys that on top of biofreeze - just felt cold n slimy. I’ve had many hot stone massages and no one has ever had a problem with burning people. He also did not use a good technique. The staff was extremely unprofessional. While awaiting my fiancé at the front desk a young esthetician came out to tell the concierge that his services were complete. She also went on a rant about his arms and chest which she enjoyed very much! I expressed how distasteful it was to hear a professional speak about my significant other’s body at such an establishment. It was extremely uncomfortable and disgusting. I spoke to management and absolutely nothing was done.

Even though I will be there for 3 days and have been a spa customer before, the spa is charging me 100% for services I cannot use-- called 5 hours ahead to explain I could not get there in time and would like to reschedule for tomorrow. The second time, I called en route and was left on hold for 5 minutes before being told the same. My courtesy was wasted and so was my money. I won't be back.

Very poorly run spa. This is unfortunate as you would think the Mohegan experience would be better. The spa amenities are mediocre at best and some were non functioning (steam room). The pictures show a nice pool, however, be aware that this is the main hotel pool. We were surprised when we walked down the hall in our robes to see a pool full of active screening children. The spa refreshments.....apples and water?!? The coffee and tea machine were also broken. The massage therapist I had was good although the noise you hear from people taking in the hall is excessive and distracting. The front desk staff were rude and rushed. If you go I would recommend that you book your appointment early in the day as they are eager to rush you out if you book a later treatment. I would give this 1 star although Tony as an excellent therapist.

DON'T BOTHER!! I made my spa appointment WELL IN ADVANCE and specifically requested a female therapist for personal reasons. I was told over and over on the phone no problem. I get there for my appointment and a male therapist with an uncomfortable demeanor greets me. I tried to be positive. We went to the room where there was a makeshift table and I was told they did the best they could because they were busy. I wasn't comfortable at all. I expressed my distaste and said "why am I in this room when I booked well in advance?" I was told that I should be happy he "stepped up" when they were busy. The therapist then tried to fix the bed and spent 15 minutes doing so, taking away from my massage time. The whole experience was so awful I was almost in tears. Spoke to someone who claimed to be the spa manager who condescendingly kept saying "aw i know i'm so sorry" over and over. It just made me more upset. They offered some insignificant discount which did nothing. I woke up the next morning in pain and still have a problem with my shoulder. I get massages an average of twice a month and have NEVER EVER had a service like this or been treated like this. Save your money!!

Kim 0 was a great massage therapist. There was no locker room or robes in the earth spa so I wanted to come back a different day and use the hot tub and pool on the 3rd floor. I walked over to the spa in the hotel and told the girl at the desk that I had just gotten a massage at the spa downstairs and asked if I could get a day pass to come back a different day. She said I would have to pay for a day pass if I wanted to come back. I spent $160 on a one hour massage. That's a lot. I would know, I'm a massage therapist who runs my own business. I don't even charge that much for an 80 minute massage. I understand it costs more because of the facilities so if I want to come back another day because I have to take care of my 8 month old son, this should be accommodated. I felt unwelcome and looked down on. If you want to attract locals, consider granting a day of access to clients who have paid. I was going to come back for a massage in April and May but the front desk was not accommodating enough for me to drop the extra money on my next massage.

I’m a person that leads a very high stress life and I’ve been for dozens of massages over the years. Today I received a fire and ice massage from Zachary. I can not rave about him enough! Not only does he have great customer service but the massage was in a class of its own! I try to make it up to Mohegan Sun on occasion for some me time and I can guarantee you that when I come back I’ll be requesting the fire and ice massage with Zachary! This was by far the best massage of my life! Thank you all for a wonderful and relaxing experience!

I found the staff very pleasant and Jocelyn was my masseuse and was wonderful. I enjoyed the 80 minute Mandara customized massage. Unfortunately the rooms are not very soundproof as they seemed to be doing some renovations so while in the room you heard drilling also you could hear other people coming and going from services chit chatting with their masseuse. The robes are comfy, the relaxation area is nice, a bit bright, not a dimly lit room with relaxing music or anything and simply some bottled water, coffee, tea, coco and juice along with a few apples and mints, no trail mix or dried fruit or anything. The amenities are a bit lacking from other spas that I have been to. Jacuzzi, steam, sauna area is small. No relaxation chairs, or any chairs around the jacuzzi. The jacuzzi temp was not hot, just warm. The showers (3) were in the jacuzzi area and there is no shelf or hook inside of the showers so you have to leave your robe, towels, etc outside and step in and out naked so anyone in the jacuzzi can see you. (Not configured for privacy). Also I found it odd that they had 2 hairdryers by a little shelf, however no chairs to sit in to "get ready" and put on makeup or anything. They do not provide makeup remover, disposable combs/ brushes or anything so be sure to bring your own. All in all it was nice.

If I could give zero stars I would. I had a horrible experience with customer service regarding my Groupon redemption. The first manager I spoke with offered empathy and promised to look into the issue and call me back with what they could do. When she didn’t call back for two days, I called. First time I was hung up on, second time, the woman who I spoke with had an absence of patience or empathy for the fact that it was the forth time I had called or that she had hung up on me 5 mins prior. In fact, Kimber was rude, unhelpful and blamed me for my poor attitude. She even accused me of lying about what the woman on Sunday had said to me. She was the complete opposite of customer service. I was trying to redeem the thoughtful birthday gift my husband bought me. After being virtually yelled at by Kimber however I have no desire to go to the spa. Not only did she fail to help me or offer me options, instead she ruined the thought of the experience entirely.

The WORSTTTTTTTTT experience. I booked a couples massage two months in advance for my boyfriends birthday. We have two kids and NEVER go anywhere but I booked a night at the casino to enjoy a couples message the following day for his birthday considering we live over an hour away. Our appointment was at 12:00 as we were getting ready to check out and go to our “couples massage” we get a phone call from the spa an hour before to tell us something came up and they have to cancel our appointment. If we like someone can go at 12:00 and the other person can go at 4:00, not the point of a couples massage. She then says or the following day at 9:00am. Which didn’t work either since we already spent the night to go to the spa the next day and we have work and kids to get home too. She proceeded to say “I’m sorry mam there is nothing else I can do, so would you just like me to cancel your appointment.” How disappointing that I have to give this place 24 hours in advance if I cancelled my appointment or I’ll be charged but they can simply call me an hour before to tell me they have to cancel my appointment. Not only did they cancel my appointment last minute but she was so rude and didn’t do one thing to make the situation better but to offer us two appointments that didn’t make sense. This is my absolute LAST time I ever spend money in this establishment after they treat their paying customers so poorly!!!!!!!! As I was checking out of the hotel and explained the situation to the front desk all they could say is how they aren’t affiliated with the spa and can’t help. Thank you for ruining a once a year night out for a Harding working dads birthday!!!

Service was decent but travel zoo deal not worth it. Paid $199 for massage and facial then had to pay another $140 for service charge tax and gratuity. The lady doing check in and out was beyond slow. Took about 30 min to check out. First 10-15 was waiting on her to put incoming calls on hold to deal with the patron in front of her. Emily did my facial which was good and she gave recommendations on what to do for my skin but the bed got so hot I was burning up! The guy who did my massage told me he would start off light and move into harder pressure. He did well except when I was actually hurting, he didn't back off on the pressure. Overall, my experience was ok but dont think I would spend the money or travel to go here again. Overall, not sure I would go back

If I could give this spa zero stars I would! Horribly run establishment. I booked an appointment with my fiance and due to THEIR booking error were forced to make it for a later time! We agreed, then when we arrived at the casino, there are no signs to guide us to the Spa. It says it's at the lower level, however it is actually on the second floor in the Earth tower. The casino is huge, so we called ahead to say we're going to be a few minutes late. When we got there, we were "greeted" by a rude receptionist who rolled her eyes at us and told us we should have been there 15 minutes early! She proceeded to tell us the appointment would be cut short, or we could cancel if we like. She DID NOT inform us that if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice you will be charged the full amount! Shady business tactics, rude workers with poor customer service skills.Avoid!
