The five stars are for Dina and the best massage I've had in years! I used to live in New Mexico where there were many massage schools and as a result, many more talented massage therapists per capita than most places. To be clear, I'm guessing and have no statistical evidence to back that up, it just makes sense. Because of that (and perhaps because I worked at a natural foods coop) I've had many wonderful massages in the past, but none of them have been local so I am thrilled to have found Dina. I walked in with achy shoulders, sore arms and a super tight neck, and I left feeling so much better, like I was floating on a cloud! I had a discounted rate and went as a treat, but I was so impressed and so happy with the results that I plan to go back, paying full price. I don't get massages very often anymore and when I do, they are generally relaxing rather than healing. This reminded me of how therapeutic massage can be when done by someone who really knows what they are doing, and also why I should get them more often. The pressure was perfect, very strong and effective, without being too hard or painful. The salon itself is odd but nice, located on the top floor of an apartment building next to The Last Bookstore. I was there on a VERY hot day and was initially concerned by the heat but the treatment room was well cooled and the owner Daisy went out of her way to make sure I was comfortable. They are moving into a new space fairly soon, I can't recall when, and it isn't what you expect a spa to look like, but for now I will go back for the massage.
